I like it. Reminds me of the videos that RM did a few years ago on staging only more updated perhaps.

This would work well for agents that are not good at telling sellers to clean up the clutter! I'm not that type but some agents are. Maybe more homes would be put in more showable condition.

Says annual, then changes it's mind on # of homes? Confusing.

What if sellers are slow & don't do all the videos in 30 day time frame?

I have viewed HouseTie and thought it was a very informative and interesting site, both for realtors and their clients.  Alot of thought and energy was put into creating this site, and it appeared very thorough to me Tony and Suzanne Marriott, Associate Brokers!

Having worked in person for many years with Angela ( owner of Housetie.com ) as an actual stager, I would like to say, in every way she has been in the trenches with agents, working her a** off , and I can't even begin to tell you how effective she is ( was ) as a stager.  Fast forward 6 years, she has skillfully and painstakingly designed this website for agents and sellers, in a way that will increase the number of listings you can get by using housetie as an invaluable resource for your seller clients. The amount of time, energy and financial resources that have gone into this start up are something nobody should balk at. And, truly their vision is to take the guess work out of how to educate our seller's to create the best possible presentation of their home, and the site offers much more than that!!!! In response to someone who said this is an opportunity for housetie.com to make money... well... with the amount of development it takes to start such a comprehensive site and the staff and service that accompanies it, I can only hope they flourish! SERIOUSLY, I can tell you, since the inception of this idea, nobody I know has worked harder to create a product for agents. If 95% of home buyers find their agent/homes online , certainly sellers are willing to give themselves an EDGE by educating themselves on a site to be the best of show. #housetierocks and giving a membership for Housetie.com to your seller makes YOU stand out above the rest.... :-)

When first impressions count...

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on our HouseTie website. We started developing the content for the site in 2009 (about the same time that I became a member of ActiveRain). We launched in September 2015 and now have about 500 members across the country.

Some of the responses indicate a little confusion about HouseTie and what it is. The original link provided wasn't to our home page. Landing in the middle of the site assumed that you already knew what you were looking at. The link's been fixed (thanks!) ...along with that darned typo. (The site was proofread, so that surprised me, but I'm really glad you caught it.) Anyway, starting on the home page makes it much easier to grasp what we're about in a glance.

I agree that there are lots of helpful websites out there. I'm sad to hear some agents dismissing HouseTie as just one of the many without understanding what it is, and how it can benefit their business and their Sellers. If we were designing a "me too" website, we could have finished it in six months. Instead it took six years.

Distilling a decade of home staging experience from my work with over 300 agents in thousands of homes wasn't easy. Boiling it all down into videos that average only four minutes in length was even harder. I promise that you'll find nothing like them on YouTube or in videos available from some major realties.

What we've produced is a tool for your Sellers to prepare every room of the house and all areas of the property. It covers condition and presentation, repair and replacement issues, maintenance, decluttering, and staging.

I know many agents tell their Sellers how to prepare the home. We're not taking anything away from them. Rather, we make the job easier, less time consuming, and then provide a method for completing each task.

These agents might find it interesting that full-time stagers are also joining HouseTie. They find it a terrific extension of what they do, especially if they don't have time to cover the entire property, inside and outside. When I used to do in-home consultations with Sellers, they took about two hours on average. For agents, this is a huge time-saver.

Here's some feedback we're getting from our members:

  • First and foremost, Sellers are loving it and agents are seeing results.
  • The videos provide third-party validation for the agent's advice, which really helps get their Sellers on the same page quickly.
  • It provides the process, a method for getting the job done. This saves time for Sellers and improves the quality of their results.
  • Agents love no longer having to be "the bad guy" by being critical of things that may become buyer objections, like pets, odors, kids' bedrooms, wallpaper, etc. We made the website customizeable so that an agent can direct Sellers to specific videos. If these touchy subjects come up later, the ice is already broken. The conversation can focus on solutions rather than how to break the news.

Here's a link to our demo video with short clips from several videos on the site. If you would like to take a closer look, just contact me and I'd be happy to set you up with a Free Pass.

Tony,

On the first page, they have a word   complementary used in the wrong context, spelled right.  For me that is a turnoff, I do know that this kind of stuff happens.  We have different people reading our websites to make sure it does not happen, especially on the first page.

I agree with Gabe Sanders

I received a link for free access for a few days.  It looks interesting.  I know agents who could justify subscribing because they don't have the confidence to tell the sellers what needs to be done.

As far as I could tell, it is an agent tool, not a by-pass or replacement.

We have so many companies that say they provide the best services for buysers, sellers and agents that it is getting overwhelming and it cost money and time. I think they have a professional look but not sure the benefits are there for me or my sellers. It all depends on exposure and number of agents who subscribe and buyers who look on this site?

Give them sellers email adressess? I can't think of any sellers that i've worked with that need help on how to clean, organize, etc to get their house show ready. I don't see myself being interested in this.
