No... I think some are waiting for home prices to drop and/or mortgage rates to drop further. Most are just waiting for more homes to come on the market.

they're not holding off in my area, there's nothing on the market except overpriced turkeys....the fresh new listings that are priced to sell are gone immediately....

Not at all. The only thing holding off buyers in our market is lack of inventory and multiple offers. Some have gotten so discouraged they've leased.

A lot of folks put their plans on hold because of the downturn in the energy industry. However we haven't seen things go down drastically. There is a lot more inventory. It will be interesting to see how Houston fares this year.

I've spoken with people in other areas of business and there is a trend of a slowdown from what I've seen lately.  Our local market is finally starting to heat up but the lack of inventory is a challenge.  Multiple Offers once again.

On the higher end they may be.  I recall working with a major investor in large commercial properties who was holding out on making a purchase until the results were in.  A

Not so far on politics, but the low energy prices are affecting buyers in Oklahoma City becasue of being an energy state.

I am finding people want to put their money into something that is holding it's value or can make them money-real estate.  We are also starting to see more foreclosures in this area as well.

Linkedin employees and Appl all put a break on purchase.  Told them to sell their stocks in 2015. Now too late some are underwater on the option for downpayment.

Real buyers buy.   Regardless of what else is happening in the world.  

It could be both, though our clients are in the older group, as our niche is age-restricted communities.  What I have noticed, is that vacationers, who are here for weeks or a week (different from snowbirds who are here for months), started arriving in February this year, and not in January Donald Urschalitz!  So homes (low inventory) are on the Market, though buyers are moving slowly . . .
