PS-I had that exact model.

I loved using a manual typewriter.... but then the electric one surfaces and it was like getting a bonus!!!

I do remember and I remember using it.

Oh, yes, my grandmother made it mandatory that I learn how to type. She said that it was essential in getting a good job.

I remember the typewriter well, and sometimes still miss it.

Now there's a blast from the past. I did learn to type on one of these, but it was a more compact model and a bit more up to date than the one pictured. 

I have one older than the one in that photo that my parents used when I was born. It is an old Underwood. 

I typed many a term paper on a manual typewriter.

The reason I had to have all my college term papers mapped out on paper before sitting down to type them up.  Correction tape with like magic.  

I remember the old typewriter days.

I had one similar to it,  Best door stop ever.

My dad, a surveyor, would come home at night and pound away on one of those. Preferred it to an electric.

Well it has a keyboard, but no screen.  I'm guessing the first bluetooth enabled keyboard, but I don't see any function keys.

Just kidding, I know what this is.  I learned typing on a similar one and actually had the briefcase portable model growing up.

I had typing class in junior high.

That's way more modern than the one I had in typing class.  

I think ours was an old Underwood.

I can do 145 wpm on those machines with very few errors. 

Yes, my mom had one and I learned to type on it!  Loved it!

Yes, I definitely remember using one, and was super-excited to get an electric typewriter, and then a word processor, and then 'the sky' was the limit!  Talk about it's "Come a Long Way, Baby!" Anthony Acosta!!  

Nothing beat Selectric. Feds require one form to be typed and libraries all are required to have one for use.  

They are still handy if you need to fill out a non-computerized form that needs to be typed.

Yes.  I learned to type on my Grandmother's Royal typewriter.

Yes, we had an IBM Selectric in the Office that could erase sentences, and you could change the font heads. the latest and greatest.  We used it to fill out Standard Industrial Leases, before everything was on line....LOL A

Haha, YUP! Couldn't wait to buy my own. I also have such fond memories of typing class in highschool.
