It means I can get my nail polish less expensive than I did before.

I would assume at least 50% in this case.

Knock off a hundred bucks (20%). What's the answer?

Probably they will give up $200.

It would have to be at least 20%/25% or more. But what would another comparable vendor charge normally?

Kathleen Daniels I would think at least 25%.

To reverse the bad publicity, they should offer to do everything gratis.

To me it means between a 40% and 75% discount. But I'd want it in writing.

I wouldn't expect anyone to work for free. 20-25% would be enough that they would probably not make the same mistake again. But, I wouldn't mention any amount. I would just remain silent and see what % discount they offer.

Well....
If betting is an option - I'd say the deep discount is not likely going to be considered deep by the customer as much as the vendor intended.

Good morning Kathleen. You made a great suggestion to your client. Deep discount would mean 50% to me.

Kathleen Daniels - in this case, perhaps FREE will be deep discount. They wasted everyone's time and there cannot be any dollar value attached to the time.

I guess the amount of discount would depend on price and the service. If I was a service company the client was going to use again, and I was truly sorry, I might do it for free or for my cost. I do believe in good customer service and treating the client as if they are number one no matter what.
In your case...if this is a service provider you use, I would request something from that company that I just described.

A deep discount would be more than a typical special or sale price.
I'd ask the service provider what they had in mind when they uttered the words deep discount.

20% off seems fair, remember they do have payroll to cover on the people the send over.

Ask the provider what they consider a "deep discount" and what the amount of the final bill would be. "Deep discount" is subjective and will mean different things to different people. Have them put it in writing before using them so there are no surprises later.
