to the majority, my postcards are junk....but I continue to produce business from them.... a small percentage call for a Free Market Analysis....a small percentage keep a card for future use, if they're thinking of a move in the future.... the rest of the postcards are junked!!!!  and I smile every month!!

Anything I don't want to read is junk to me, and yes, there is a lot of real estate junk.

I'm sure a few people in my farm market think of my newsletter and market report as junk.  I try to make them have value and not be seen as junk mail.

I once had a PO box in a prime location and paid triple for the zip code. I got so much junk mail that my real mail would be held inside because the box got full quickly. So I had to wait in line to get the real mail. They didn't care so I closed it. Never again. The PO box I have now gets zero junk mail.

Mail that doesn't do me any good.  That's junk mail to me.  Just like some of the junk emails we get.

To some nothing, to others, everything qualifies.

Everything that is not a bill.

It depends upon how the recipient classifies the mail.

I look at all our mail, and how I am being marketed to.  I am sure that there are some who would love all the coupons from the markets around here, and 2 for 1 pizza offers.  So in a sense it is junk and it isn't.  It still ends up in the recycle bin.  A

Mail I don't want, either paper or electronic. I get both but the vast majority comes from non real estate sources. I think our industry produces less than many others.

Junk mail? Papers /ads stuffed in our box trying to grab our attention for services. Yes, we add to the bulk.  Everyone has different ideas for what junk mail is.

The definition I've gone by is the same as the definition of spam.  "Unsolicited Commercial Email" (or in this case postal mail).  For me, that is 99.9% of the mail I receive.  For a while I'd get my mail once a week (on trash day) and there would MAYBE be 4 legit pieces of mail and the rest went straight into whatever trash bin was around.

I keep finding listing opportunities & offers in my spam mail.

We do produce alot of material that many would consider junk mail but one man's trash is another man's treasure.  For months I threw this little circular away, even though on the back was an ad for carpet and upholstery cleaning.  Then right before the holidays it again arrived in my mail.  I was ready for their services and called them up to clean my carpets.  We arent going to convince someone to sell their home from a piece of direct mail but the homeowner that is thinking of or ready to sell, may see open their mailbox and receive one of our postcards and make the phone call.  The majority of sellers never interview more than one agent - you just want to be top of mind at the right time.

Oh yes...and so are many other businesses.  Anything that's sent in bulk, that you didn't ask for and not related to a company you are already doing business with.  

That would have to be a definite yes; although I do not mail post cards etc; I do have material that is handed out to FSBO's and expired homes.
