I'm going to guess 1000.  My husband and I took an extended vacation last year and although we had a house/pet sitter we elected to hold our mail and pick up when we returned. I actually went through it at the post office and brought home less than 1/4 of it.

We could probably save lots of trees...it irrates me with the waste of time and money and our natural resources!

No idea but I'm glad we have curb side recycling!  

We get enough and that's not near what the city homes receive. Makes good kindling..   Possibly about 35-40?

I do know there will never be a "do not mail" list (like the do not call lists) because the government run Post office can't afford to lose any more of our money than they already do!   

I don't think my household gets as much as most do. We have culled and gotten it down to a small handful every week.

I googled it and even then there was no real consensus.  One site said 6 peices a week, one said 11 peices. But the thing that stuck was that 44% goes right into the trash unopened!  I just had a discusion with my husband about marketing using targeted post cards.  I think I am done with that idea!  So THANK YOU for asking the question!!

Too much, but I usually stand at my recycle bin in garage before I walk in house with mail., all junk goes directly in bin.  Now we get lots of junk emails

I don't know, but I often wonder why I can't just ask my insurance agent to take me off the mailing list and pass the postage savings on to my premiums!
