I wouldn't be too concerned about what other Realtors think . . .  ask the public in your market their opinion.   I know when I'm out with Buyers or just with civilians in general, they tend to badmouth the signs with pictures.   I'm often shocked at how negative some of the comments can be.  I watch and learn.

I put my picture on my signs about 12 years ago.... I believe it does help as I'm always running into people who recognize me from my signs and/or who think they've met me before when they haven't. I get a lot of "oh yes I see you on signs all over the area." It's hard to quantify but I believe the face recognition along with name recognition is important. When I had signs without my picture, I did not get as much recognition.

Hi Desmond, in my market you see a lot of photos, people remember faces better than names I think or it is easier to associate a name with a photo. It always worked for me and you have a great face so use it to your advantage!

I'm anti photo on sign, but I guess it depends on the market.  But the sign is about selling the house, not about me the agent.

I think it depends no your area.  In our area, agents do not typically put their picture on the sign, but they put their name on the sign.  If you want recognition fast, spend money on a billboard with your picture on it.  That will get you more recognition quickly than a For Sale Sign that many people just drive by.

It could help get people to recognize you. There are two schools of thought with that Desmond. One is my answer, the other is that some people prejudge folks by their looks and that means some people will not like us just by our looks. As crazy as it sounds, I have read this many times.

I'd say no.  Just like business cards, you need to update that photo every 5-10 years.  I prefer to keep my cards and signs usable until the die or I find a better sign, so no photo.  Just my name, number and company.

How will you react if some morning you drive down Eldorado Blvd and on your new yard sign you see your image is enhanced with a mustache and eye-patch?

I would recommend a 'slogan' or memorable logo.

Can one tell what you do my looking at your image? If the image was actually a yard post with SOLD rider and your image on that sign, now you've got something. Your 'image' becomes the logo the clearly reveals what you do on any media you choose. Your sign on a font yard suggests very clearly what you do.

In the end, if you think your appearance is an asset, you should run with it. And every year you get better looking update your media. Don't go the other way.

Hard to see probably print your names larger.... That depends... Your phone # is crucial. I never had a customized OPEN HOUSE sign in 11 years. Just a generic "OH sign" and a rider with my name & phone #.
