Yes I do, but it is asleep like me. I have it set that if I get a repeated call from someone, then it will ring.
I don't have AR set to ping me though, that would be too distracting to my day.

Michael - I plug in my phone near my bed, but thank goodness I typically don't get any calls in the evening.
Sorry you got blown up with all the spamming.

I have kids and grandkids...most definitely! If something happened and they were in the hospital, and I didn't know until the next morning, I would be devastated!!

I've always heard to keep an old phone by the bed, because the 911 will still work.

Yes, for a variety of reasons having nothing to do with work. My phone also automatically goes to silent mode (except for phone calls) at 945pm when I'm home. It isn't a problem for me. I also have a landline in my bedroom as well, with the ringer turned off. If I need help in the middle of the night, I want to make sure that help is within arms reach!

yes but it just a clock at that point and only puts through approved numbers ( if my wife calls or reverse 911 ) .

ABSOLUTELY NOT....my phone is on my workstation in the kitchen....with the ringtone shut .....

Always. Although my children have never called me during the night, I sleep better knowing they could reach me if they needed to.

Yes, I do keep my phone by my bed because of my parents. One of my old client calls me at 5am yesterday and I did answer her phone. But there was no response and she hung up. Then I call her back at 8am to make sure she is ok.

NO. And the phone is shut off. That 3am call is coming in at 5. Unlikely we would get a family emergency. Plus, you haven't lived till you get a 1am VM from some random child making unveiled inuendos from a Foursquare check in. No more 4Sq checkins, either. LOL

You bet plus water, tissue, gun and knife all handy and waiting to serve me

TeamCHI - Complete Home Inspections, Inc. I have a phone nearby, but is is definitely not for business.

Yes, but I turn all the sound and vibrations off. We have a landline, so if there is a true emergency in the middle of the night my family knows how to reach me.
1,513,143
Yes as there is no land line and for emergencies!
I turn off notifications for everything but a call.

Yes. Mother is 90 years old.
She receives great comfort knowing she can make the call.
Last year, she suffered real anxiety thinking, at night, she was isolated.

I do but set my phone to night so regualr calls, texts and emails wont make any noise or buzzes.

Yes. For my day job I'm effectively on-call 24/7 and while the occurrence rate is very low for me being paged I still have to have to be available. I imagine that I won't bother to turn it off once I drop the day-job.
