I do, unless it's something that I really like and then it becomes the 24 hour rule.

I don't tailgate so the 5 second rule is of no importance.

Depends on the surface it falls on, but yes the 5 second rule is strong.

The "5 Second Rule" at our house was always about dropped food on the floor, Peter Mohylsky ... but you have to understand that I grew up with 3 brothers ... it was every man (and morsel) for themself!

I didn't see anything on the morning news about a 5 second rule.  However, there is a very well known 7 second delay rule that the FCC implemented several years ago.  If you are watching the Super Bowl this weekend on TV, your fun (or sadness) will be delayed by 7 seconds.

This rule was standard operating procedure for me for a long time until my vision failed the 1st phase of inspection prior to consumption..

NO, my exception is if it is dry or coated, like an advil pill, then yes. But any and most food items i would not eat.
