Most of the time I don't bite. I want to see the information there and then I don't mind seeing links to supporting info.

I refuse to be redirected.  If the entire post is not where I expect it to be, I don't follow the breadcrumbs.

A good blog takes time, research and or experience. If you have to take from another site, why not use basic writing skills to summarize content rather than send them somewhere else?

I don't mind people taking me to their site for a blog post, but those sites that don't really have what they said or make you click again and again to get through the list. GRRRR

I find it irritating to some degree. I prefer a good synopsis of what the links offer in the post and then can click through for more information if I'm truly intrigued.

they want you to click so they get stats for advertising their site.. I read the comments and usually people give it away in them so you dont have to click and can find out what it is ll about...

I noticed that too and I think it is a smart strategy since their main blog is a priority, they use AR just to forward more traffic there. 

Bob Crane when that happens, I do NOT click on the 'Rest of the Story'! As such there is enough to read/learn here in AR!

I agree with you, and  most of the time I won't click the link. I'm here to learn and be entertained. I don't want to be redirected. I'm also seeing a lot of this in the Q and A.

I'm on board with you Bob Crane . It seems to be a growing tread to request you visit  another blog to get the whole story. I'm up for boycotting and not even commenting on those peoples posts anymore.

It doesn't bother me much. If it is a topic that I am really interested in...I do click on the highlights.

I hate that too.  Even in print publications that make you keep searching for the next page.

The only thing the writer gets for their effort is the gratuitous click. (well maybe more if they are on their game) Be aware, the writer has determined it is perfectly ok with them if you do not click through.

As a whole, I think it smart for agents to stop giving stuff away, A click is not that much of a price.

websites do it so when you go to the next page you get to see a whole new set of ads and they get paid for that view you just gave them

Bob - I don't mind if they actually start writing their post so you know what it is about, then want to send you somewhere else to read everything.

The ones that just say "Check this out", I tend to bypass.

I hate that too!  I don't like to click away unless it's a very good start.  

That may be the difference between reporting headlines and analyzing them, whatever the opinion might be.

I usually pass over those annoying "click bait " stories. seems like newspapers like to use that approach " to read rest of story, sign up here or subscribe to my ? ' I can find the same info other places without signing up for another newsletter, etc.

There are a couple of people here who are engaging enough, I do click to read the rest of their story but for the most part, I move on without doing so. 

Yes, I find it rather annoying, too and have to click off.  The worst if you have to be a paying member to read the content.
