I don't use Zillow and like the thought of being recorded even less.

I think recoded means they are keeping track of it. I doubt they have the space or ability to record that many calls. I don't care anyway. All they would find out is that I am a great Realtor.

When someone chooses to do business with the dark side, they have no right to complain. What is known is only what they elected to share.If you knew the deals they have made with franchises and associations you would be OUTRAGED...or should be.

There are many here on AR who have no hesitation embracing the dark side.

I had not heard this. I don't deal much with Zillow so I don't know how they'd be recording my conversations. And is it even legal if you haven't provided permission?

I had no idea. Don't use zillow.

I'm not sure how they could do this unless the client called the realtor who was sitting in their call center.  Otherwise, if they call me directly only certain "three or four letter agencies" can record that call.

Zillow does not operate in Canada.  How do they record calls between a client and yourself? 

I hope Z is disclosing that conversations are being recorded.

This is outrageous!  I thought it was going to be a joke or something when I read the question.  I think it's time for all of us to recreate our businesses, at least those that depend on Zillow for their success.

Caroline - Well since I have never gotten a lead from Zillow, I guess I won't have to worry about that.

Another reason not to do business with Zillow.  They have again been calling and emailing.  Maybe agents are dropping out more now.

Z says they may be going into commercial as well.  If they record conversation of re attorney/broker I imagine that is the end of an online business.
