30% in my pocket...You Bet!

Have I heard that before? You Bet!

Now, without a doubt, there is room in this industry for a visionary broker to establish a new business model. THAT model will appeal to the Level 3 agent NOT those who rest on assurance of success based on existing business models. How to attract those in possession of creative genius is the trick in regards to the visionary business.

The only way my income could be increased by 30% would be for another broker to be handing me more qualified leads.

I appreciate your earnestness in asking the question, but it's a little too simple for me to give a sincere answer.  'cause there's no such thing as "All things being equal, would you take 30% more?"

Sure, but nobody treats me as well as I treat myself. I would join a brokerage if it really provided more value than me being on my own.

If it were a matter of being with brokerage A and paying them 30% of commission vs. going to brokerage B and paying them 0% of commission, with everything else being equal, sure. Happily my chosen brokerage will take 30% of the first 4 transactions only, after that I'll get that 30% bump in income without switching. :0)

If it were a matter of brokerage B is going to presume to "fix me" so that I can do 30% more business, no. I should be able to to do that myself (through ongoing training, knowledge-sucking, etc) wherever I choose to hang my hat.

If you are talking the split probably not as the expenses of some items would be coming out of pocket. Training also becomes a problem.

So NO.

I tried that for split back in 2013 and lost more money 2 listings over $5M combined because high end sellers in San Diego want a brand.  It would depend on your niche and the brokerage presence.  Grass isn't always greener.
