It's a dogs world out there, mans best friend, etc, etc.  

Labs are beauties. But I love Pitties too. Hell, I love dogs.

A little surprised that lab is the answer, only because don't see too many of them around.

Conrad - I can certainly understand why the Labrador Retriever is the most popular breed, although I am still a big fan of the Boxer.

 At one time I had two labradors. Wonderful breed of dog.

I did not know that.

I did mention a Lab as one of the most popular. I'm not a fan of Labs. I prefer Dobermans and Rotties. They are so smart and all they want to do is please you. I have owned two Dobies and two Rotties. 

Almost a year ago I rescued a Lab mix. I rescued him twice. I was the person that found him wandering the streets at night with blood all over his neck. Then I turned him into the shelter. The shelter took him to the vet.

The vet believes the wounds were intentionally caused. The dog's ears were cut and he ended up with stitches on both the inside and outside of his ears. The shelter called me and asked me if I wanted him, because they weren't going to give him to his owners even if they did show up. I adopted that dog.

He's mixed with Border Collie. I know this because I had a genetic test done. I won that test in a drawing. It's not something I would normally do. I love this dog. I don't care what breed he is. 

We just spent two hours at the dog park today. We are both worn out. 

Oh I got it right. I do think they are amazing dogs (so smart).

Love Labs, but Poodles are my thing and it's OK for them not to be number one.

I thought it might be changing because so many people have the tiny dogs they put clothes on 

I thought Labs were the only dogs to have until we got our Schnauzer .... She's the best kid we've ever had.

That makes a  lot of sense.  They are wonderful dogs for all ages.

mixed breeds

I just read this wierd story where everyone in a south american country decided to get a lab or retriever as a fad. Now that that dogs are no longer puppies, they are being let loose to fend for themselves in the city streets. There was a lady that was bringing them into Atlanta for dog rescue here in the states.

I guess this has been going on for a few years. Can't imagine abandoning a dog to the streets.

Retrievers are great dogs.... I love the Goldies my grandson has....

Conrad Allen I can see why. Lab's are great looking dogs.

I'm not surprised, my daughter has a black lab mix, he is a great dog.
