I ask it 10 times per day minimum during my CEO power hour calls. Oh by the way Gary Coles (International Referrals) , if you, a friend or family member were to buy or sell real estate in San Diego, do you have a Realtor you'd refer them to? I'm never too busy for your San Diego County Referrals!

I replaced the "Do you know" with "Who do you know", after asking the question, pause, then I may make suggestions to trigger their memory(teacher, neighbor etc). Then, they will receive a handwritten postcard from me as well offering my services. I do ask this question only if I already have an established relationship with the individual, not general public..that would be awkward and too desperate for me.

It's rare that I'll ask that question to the general public. It sounds so desperate if it's just someone I've met or a server at a restaurant. I build relationships and during that time my profession will come up.

IMHO, that question is similar to what multi-level marketers ask. I have ways that aren’t as in your face to start a conversation about real estate.
