You mean all the lawsuits, the request for money from doctors, and all the new friends you never wanted?

I was reading advice from the experts stating you have to delete all digital footprints.   After 20 years of working so hard at MAKING them, wonder how difficult that would have been!

Unfortunately, I didn't win. That's the negative side. Otherwise it's all good. It's all in how you personally handle money. And somehow, I think, regardless of any negatives, no one would turn the winnings down.

Chris Ann Cleland - the probability of winning is 1 in about 300,000,000! And that's the probability of something negative happening to us! Too much to worry about that....

And I did not win anything - spent $20 for nothing! Well, I tried!

I've heard that it's really awful.  I'm guess the people who say that don't know where to shop.

I think the harassment of everyone in the world wanting financial help, having a cool idea for a business or investment, and so on could be a real drag. Saying no to people I know would be hard

I did have a discusstion about the number of banks I'd need to be federally insured.

     Do an internet search for "Curse of the lottery".  So many lotto winners wind up bankrupt, divorced, overdose on drugs, suicide, even murder.  The only "successful" lotto winners appear to be people who were already wealthy.

I know I wouldn't do what others do and that's letting the local news station interview you and plaster your face all over TV and the front page of Yahoo.

Negatives-what to spend it on? Just kidding...I think the amount of publicity and folks coming out of the woodwork wanting in would be a big negative! Deciding who to share it with and what charities to give to would be a stressful but positive result as well!

You would have to hire an attorney to bury your name. Then have a plastic surgeon give you a temporary look to claim the money. Otherwise it would be awful!

You might have to go in hiding for awhile !!!

Just saw news clip that several winners donate most of their money to others.  

We don't play so we don't have to think of negatives.

I had that discussion today with some other Realtors. I just hope whoever the winners are will do some good with the money and not let it ruin their lives.

Oh yes. From new best friends to crooked advisors to family infighting to vulnerability to criminals to annoyances from 'everyone'. Knowing who to trust would be huge. And tough.

Yes, there are many. Loosing who you are, friends that come out of the woodwork, and where and how to invest. Oh, I forgot, moving from where you are now. How about your picture in the newspaper?

It would be interesting to try to keep people from finding out that you were the winner.

Chris Ann - Obviously my father has. He said he didn't buy a lottery ticket because he didn't want to have to deal with that much money if he had won.

I guess I would start seeing a lot of old friends again and some new ones I didn't know I had. 

I try to avoid thoughts about winning the lottery, just focus on earning my money the old fashioned way.

I could handle the negative aspects of winning.

I did not buy any but seems everyone else did. Have they find a winner yet? 

Most winners end up broke within a year.

Many factors to consider. Including where to live.
