Coffee of course.
Second best MILK!
A recent survey showed folks LIKE fruitcake...the overwhelming majority said they would eat the fruitcake, not send it away.
I've never tried brandy with the fruitcake. That could be interesting.

I only ever drink water or coffee and rarely a glass of champagne. But as I don't indulge in fruitcake (ever), there is no best beverage for me.

I don't eat fruitcake so I have no idea what a good accompaniment would be. Coffee? Eggnog? A hot toddy?

A shot or two of tequila, because that is the only way I might consider eating fruitcake. ![]()

I personally like fruitcake but not the ones laden with those huge chunks of candied fruit. I make my own. But it seems here the old axiom fits when it comes to fruitcake:
"Don't get even--give fruitcake!"
Also it is rumored that only ONE fruitcake was ever made and it keeps getting regifted every year!

I usually give away the fruit cake to a worker of mine who seems to inhale them and plan a warm eggnog or hot chocloate on this snowy day

When I was young, I recall my family visits to the home of my grandmother in Portsmouth, VA. The fruit cakes would be in tins. She put a run soaked cheesecloth on top of the fruitcakes and the moisture would be absorbed ty the cakes in the tins.
