There are those who say I'm getting more offended these days. Bah-Humbug.

I wouldn't be offended, but let's face it, most of the ones who do this and call are just trying to drum up business for their services. And how do I know they are a real expert in their field or worth the money they want. For me, it's a version of "cold calling." If I need help in my business, I'll find my own experts.

Not at all, but I would prefer a well-though-out email instead. That way I could take the time to review what they had to say and make a decision from there.

I get calls from scammers all the time offering to do this for me, luckily AR was not part of that crowd.

I wouldn't be offended but then again I might question if they joined AR just to get a prospect list and database. With that said I probably wouldn't jump on the opportunity.

This happens all the time to me. I don't appreciate unsolicited calls however I understand the sales call. If they would leave a message I would answer.

It would be interesting. I know the emails I get about SEO help are the first ones I delete every day. And there are tons of them.

I would consider this to be just another sales pitch. However, I would not be offended.

Not offended, but probably annoyed. Already get too many calls from seo " experts", social media managers, expresscopy, affiliates with numerous other companies, etc, etc.

Yes. Solicitations through AR are a violation.

I prefer to receive emails . When I receive sales call I like to be polite and tell them to email me.

Annette - I have received these calls, but since I don't know who they are, I am typically pretty skeptical, but not offended.

Good morning Annette. I wouldn't get offended, what I do with the communication is up to me.

Annette,
I’m like the old farmer to the recent college agricultural grad. “I know how to do a lot more (including SEO) than I have time to do.” A website is my least productive tool to get new clients.

No and I'd be glad to get a little help for free. Might budget a little $$$ for more help.

I would not be offended, but having the time to talk with them would be the issue

I would not be offended, since this is how they look for business. They call/emails from AR, LI, FB, etc. I just politely decline or unsubscribe.

I have not been offended. Cheryl Carradini has reached out to me in the past (granted I signed up for something she blogged about on AR). Free advice that was useful. I'm on her mailing list now and have found it to be useful (her newsletter today talked about hashtags). I also research the topic myself and have had free consultations with an additional SEO person one of my lenders recommended.
I think part of the purpose of this site is to help others, so I don't mind someone reaching out, so long as it is done "politely" (not daily or hourly contact attempts, not your typical "used car salesman" approach, etc.).

Depends on who the expert is. There are a few people that I WISH would go over my stuff lol.

Annette Lawrence , Palm Harbor, FL 727-420-4041 a little help is perfect. Lot of help with $ - depends on what that '$' is.
And sure a thank you note for this expert to offer you help for free. That's something I like about ActiveRain.
We have givers.

Nope. If they found me that would be a step in the right direction. A little information doesn't hurt. What if that one thing could help you better your marketing?

Intruded upon would be more like it. If I have not reached out and asked for a service, I resent vendors using my work for their own sales pitches.

Annette,
I would not be offended at all. We are all here to further our businesses and make money. However, if they became a pest, I would be. A

not offended.....not sure if I'd hire that person or not... might talk to some others at that point....

When I was an active agent, I was amused and offended when I got solicitations for SEO help when I already had 7 of the 10 spots on page one of Google.
Currently, I wouldn't be offended if someone on AR offered help... IF I felt they were attempting to be a valuable member of the site and not just here to "farm".

Only if I am looking for help. I am fine without them.
We have our in house expert and there is a low bud or high bud solution to any issue.

I appears you have the standard "cookie cutter" corporate web site. I honestly don't see where an SEO expert could improve on it that much, unless the owner of the site gave them carte blanche to makeover the entire site.

If I want help, I will reach out for it. Calling takes time from my paying clients. E-mail me and I will file it for when I have time to review. The ONLY time I am calling an online group member I am not personal friends with is to refer business. YMMV

I would not be offended; the question would be would one spend to make themselves better.
