I don't think I'll be pursuing any designations other than "Sold" for 2016.

I got my MRP - Military Relocation Professional Certification. I like the information because I am in San Diego and we have a ton of military in the area. Other than this one, I don't think the public knows what the letters stand for anyway. If you feel its important, go for the knowledge. 

For the most part, my reputation and client testimonials are my best designation. In my humble opinion, I find that most designations really don't have much meaning, especially to consumers. They could really care less. So many agents seem to highlight them simply to impress other agents. Big whoop! Having said that, there has been some credible value in the past with the CRS designation...

I second Gabe Sanders .  That is the only designation that matters in the long run.  A

when I was active in real estate, I had 9 of them.... the most useful one was CRS....

For several years I planned to get my broker license. This past summer I did it!

I find they don't have a great deal of meaning to the public.  If you take them for the knowledge gained only, I say go for it.  If you think anyone will be impressed by them, not so much!

Outstanding WebAward for Real Estate in 2015 .... competed against over 1500 entries in 40 countries, and independently judged on seven categories in this 17th year of judging by the Web Marketing Association.  Woo-hoo! (I'm still pretty excited about this...)

I am with Susan Emo on this one. I have my CRS, ABR and GRI and I don't think they do any good with the public

I received my Military Relocation Professional designation. We have a lot of military people here, and my clients are often choosing VA loans. I've learned a lot over the years, but wanted the formal training so I could better serve my clients who have served me.

I did not pursue any designations in 2015 but I did attend many training sessions and workshops.  For me, learning is not about the designation as much as about being knowledgeable.  So not sure what will fit into my busy schedule during 2016, but I will be attending some type of training to keep sharp.

I will be getting my ABR in 2016.  Maybe some more.

I received a key designation for the market here on Kauai, Resort and Second-Home Specialist. 

I have three designations that I have had for years and don't plan to get any more.

Will hopefully get a designation in 2016 or 2017

Not for me; it was a year of expansion.

I did  not and don't see any news ones in my future.  

I love this question and think those of us who are full time need to continue our education in order to better our service for our clients.

An interesting question.  However, I don't know who tracks how many people receive various designations.

Kelly Cummings and Ryan Cummings nothing new this year - however, I should add a designation in 2016/7. 

I did not get any new designations in 2015 but got 2 in 2014. I have not plans to take on more in 2016 but will take plenty of education.

I do not have any formal designations. However; I was able to take several classes over the last year.  It's so important to try and keep yourself in the loop.

Yes I received my Second Home Specialist Designation this year and have all the classes lined up in 2016 to receive my GRI. in 1 year - not 5!

I really have learned quite a bit with the 4 designations I have and with each class taught I walk away learning something new.   Of course, I love learning and It really does keep me on the top of my game. 

Many new clients have commented that when they see the designations behind my name online - althought they don't know what they mean - they feel more confident calling on me to help them find a new home.  And it must be working as I have remained a multi-million dollar producer every year!  

So, I highly recommend getting a designation or at least taking classes above what the minimum requirements are.  Knowledge is very important in our industry with all the constant change. 

I received two just before 2014 ended.

I don't pursue designations for the public (but I will highlight them in my promotional literature) but rather for my own knowledge. I find that the designations I have give me some important tools to use in my business.

I am not going to get any more designations. I do not like to pay annual dues.

 I often wondered how designations really helped real estate agents.

I don't feel that anything other than "broker" will ever be behind my name. Even then, I will only get that as a challenge to myself, nothing more.

I did not. 

Designations are not for me.  I keep current on legal updates and know my local market well ... that's all I need. The average Joe Public does not know what all of the EIEIO's behind names mean anyway.  I did get certified for short sales and last year for probate ... but I see designations and certifications as two different animals.

I didn't get any designations in 2015. There's only a few more I would like to get...due to the course material, but I'm holding off a bit. I'm just a bit busy for a very long involved course. 

No new designations for me. I dropped my designations years ago because of the cost.

I did not.  I see them all the time, working with an agent now who has so many they do not all fit on one line on his email signature (no, I am not kidding).  Even though he has all those, a branch manager, had to correct him several times on this transactions on things he didnt know.   There is no replacing experience and I give that more credit than sitting in classes.  For RE the exceptions are broker designation(s) and Masters in Real Estate at a college.   Just my opinion.

I have five designations right now, and this year was too busy to work on another, and maybe not 2016 either.

I'm considering starting back with CCIM, but haven't decided if i'll pursue any others.

None for 2015 but will be taking ABR in 2016.

Kelly and Ryan - I am very into continuing my education, and keeping updated with real estate trends, but really have no interest in getting a designation just to say I am ABR certified. I will take classes that enhance my professionalism.

No new designations this year for me. We work hard on our reputation and service so others will reccomend us. I find the best and most loyal clients are those who have been referred to me.

I've earned all the designations I wanted years ago. No plans for 2016, either.

I got the SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist) designation. I lost a listing to another agent who had it, so not going to let that happen again! I work with a lot of seniors and letters mean more to them than other demographics.

I took a break from designations this year but worked on establishing contacts and relationships in the  CRS network this year. 

These are only a priority for those selling them.

i did not, but am looking into some new ones for 2016.

I am interested in obtaining the CIPS but otherwise have no plans for any others

I did not pursue one, but I thought about it.  I have asked other Realtors about designations and they have reported that the designation has not gotten them much more business because many people do not know what these designations mean.  So, if I get any additional education that carries a designation, I probably will not attach the designation to may name.  Additionally I hear that it costs me to have the designation recognized and that does NOT make me happy at all.

I will go after the ABR this coming year!

A few months ago, I took the leap and opened my own company.  Designated Broker, I am!  :-)

No new designations this past year, but our local board has a new certification they rolled out called " Excellence in Professionalism- Gold Key Certification" and over 10% have taken the class (over 1000 agents and brokers) .

I am a firm believer in continuing education, not so much to gain a designation but to stay current with trends, laws and the camaraderie at our local board... 
However I must say I just got a listing referral last week due to having the GRI designation .
Next year I will take AHWD course.

Did not receive any new designations this year. However, I did upgrade my license to broker. It was enough studying for one year!

I like the SOLD idea too. However I did get a new designation...VAMRES

I did not persue any designations this year, but I did take courses for credits towards my Brokers license.  It took me a year to complete the courses.  Taking a little time off from studying to refresh and will begin studying for my exam in January.  Expect to take the exam and pass no later than February.

I have not pursed a new designation in many years... See Dusty Baker featured post today...1percent of sellers and buyers care about your designations! However, I think they are great to take and learn from. I am thinking of taking the one for property manangers soon. 

No I didn't and I have no plans to do so in 2016.
