When we lived in Napa, I was at the market getting a bunch of stuff for our Thanksgiving dinner.  Because, I had spent over $100. the market was giving away 25lb frozen turkeys.  Ron and I looked at each other and wondered what the heck we were going to do with it, since we had ordered a fresh organic bird.  As we were heading towards our car, I overhead a mother and daughter pooling their monies wondering if they could afford a turkey.  Ron and I walked over to them and handed them that 25lb bird... Their smiles said it all.  A

I haven't done so at this time, but doing a charitable act like the one posed in the question would be a great thing to do.  

No simply because I'm not that organized.  I do donate a lot of food to a local food pantry though.

I haven't done exactly this, but I have made up care packages for people that I know need a little extra help. 

As an office project one year, we created a box for a family of six that included Thanksgiving dinner and breakfast for the next day. We repeated it at Christmas. We took great joy in the kind act!

Larry, I did it, and for few Thanksgiving with others we feed homeless people in a shelter.

No I haven't done that.  I prefer to provide to the Food Banks and allow many families to benefit from that.

YES! It is so fulfilling to do that, whether they need the food or not.  It is really appreciated!

I work with several groups that do this type of thing.

Larry - We delivered food to a homeless shelter that was donated through my wife's employer Intel. Many people were involved in donating the food, and we delivered it on Christmas Day. The food served I believe about 80-100 people, and we actually had an opportunity to speak with some of the homeless and listen to their stories. It was a great feeling, but very emotional!

No I have not Larry.. but it is certainly a good thing to do.

No, I have not personally done that.  I have bought the box of food on behalf of a charity that provided it to a needy family.  I usually buy several of those each year.

Yes and it is one of those things you just don't forget. These types of things, when done and spent, are the true coins of this earthly realm

A few years ago we adopted a family for Christmas.  It was a friend of a friend that was going through some tough times.  We collected presents and gift cards at our office.  Two days before Christmas I hired a local Santa to deliver all of the gifts.  

The coolest thing is that the family had no idea it was happening, and they never knew who did it for them.  

Yes and before we leave we pray with them. 

I read your post, and should seek out a deserving family and do this too! 

I used to deliver them as part of the police department program in Norman Oklahoma when I owned retail stores.

However, I was never so callous as to deliver it personally. Always anonymous.

No.  We make and deliver sandwiches several time a year for the homeless.  Between now and Christmas we will also deliver 50 pairs of gloves and new blankets.

Mostly for older folks that they have a good meal those days.

No. I have never done this and have admiration for those who do.

I donate canned food during the holidays.

We always give to our areas food banks . Never made up a box of food.

At an open house a handicapped came to me he needed someone sell his condo as he has not paid mortgage for 3 years after he was hit in a car accident.  I sent an agent over with turkey, trimmings and a pumpkin pie. I gave him a coffee card also. He grabbed the food and slammed the door on her.  After Xmas I called him asking how things were. He said go away.  I never heard from him again. People are quite unpredicable.
