When I feel it coming on or I am going through it, I cancel my day and go to bed. When I'm feeling better I go back to work. I don't drive my car on a flat tire, so I don't drive my body on an illness. People don't appreciate you getting them sick, just so you can be "a trooper". 

I certainly don't want to spread germs and prefer clients(and co-workers) feel the same way.  

Hurry and take Emergen-C and take in some HOT green chile, and hopefully you will feel better soon.  I try and stay away from others if feeling sick.

I typically try to stay away from others when I am sick. In January of this year I had what felt like a cold.  I had to show houses to a client, 2 days in a row. I was careful to not shake hands and carried my hand sanitizer in my pocket (I normally do this anyway). At any rate, I wound up with walking pneumonia. Needless to say, after going to the doctor, I stayed home for a week to get better. Next time, I will still go out to meet clients if I have to do so, and still take precautions to not get others sick as well. Best thing out of this particular situation was that my client was extremely pleased, gave me an awesome review, I soon got over the illness, and still received my first ever commission check. 

P.S. This was my first transaction as a Realtor...no way was I gonna let a bad cold hold me back! 

I try to stay away from people if I think I am contagious.  Otherwise, I try to work or just do computer work... and rest so I can get well!

I would always go to the office and stay in my office and work ....I rarely got sick....maybe once or twice that I can remember.... but if I had a listing call, I would always alert the homeowner that I was sick but I would go to the appointment if they could not wait.... they always waited and were appreciative that I disclosed that so their family would not get sick....

absolutely keep on working. do not let the intruder have the satisfaction

If I know i'm contagious, I stay home and focus on getting well. which for me means exercise more.

This past week I encountered a couple who, adhering to current CDC guidelines. would not shake the hand of anyone. 

I can only imagine their response to a ragweed sneeze.

I would assume that with the 100's of people a Realtor meets each month, it would behoove you to keep your immune system as healthy as possible. If you feel that you're coming down with something, do you let your clients know, and not shake their hands or get to close to them?

This year has been about pushing through.

I try to stay away from people when I am sick and hope they do the same. There is plenty to do on the computer or telephone and not contaminate otehrs.

Depends how sick I am. If it is really bad, I apologize and reschedule. We all people and it is better to be honest and sincere, than to keep appointment pretending you are fine.

If its a really bad cold I stay in but I haven't had a cold in about three years, I do get really bad allergies and when it gets to the point where I get watery eyes I stay in.

I usually do work when I'm sick. I know I should stay home, but if something needs to be done, then I do it. 

I hardly ever get sick Debbie. If I have a cold and are stuffy I tell them this and if they do not care I go.

I usually do not go out to show homes if I am not well - and if it is really 'urgent' I have my colleagues who help me.

Working hard when you are fit is okay, not when you are sick.

I have allergies pretty bad and am always caughing, and everyone knows i am not sick.  If I was truly sick, I would let the person know, if they still want to meet and I am able to go, I will.

Debbie - I do continue to work even when ill, unless I am physically am just unable to. However, I try to avoid clients if I am contagious.

Sometimes, but if they have children or are pregnant, we reschedule, or use a different agent.  Evelyn and I cover for each other, so normally, we don't have that situation.

Thankfully, I don't get sick very often.  The last time was over a year ago and for some reason, it hit me hard. I asked a collegue to go on showings for me that couldn't be rescheduled. 

I don't slow down unless I am REALLY sick!

We should stay home to prevent the spread of our colds. However, I have always continued to work whenever possible. 

I have the same thing and headed to NAR tomorrow. I got a ZPack from my Doctor and took a B-12 shot. I should be fine by tomorrow. In the meantime stay home and have others do the meet and greet.

I work at the house, until I just can’t. However I don’t meet clients. I have my trusty broker associate sub for me. I hope you are back to 100% quick.

If I'm contagious or if it is so bad that I cannot be effective then I reschedule.

I was working when I had a fever and strep throat the next day I was in the hopital.  

I won't meet with clients when I'm sick, but will continue to work out of my home as opposed to the office.

I won't meet clients if I'm contagious or visibly sick.  I'll still work on desk based aspects of the business though.

I work when I am sick but if I think I'm contagious I try to stay home.

Well, don't want to spread the germs, so it's good that we are a Team and one of us can scramble around and get it all done!

I've been dealing with a health issue the last few weeks that has really worn me down, but can't get others sick. I now have a pretty hefty headache from it all, but I'm still here.

I still keep working, possibly more then when I am not sick because I am home more and can really go all out with digital marketing, websites etc.

I was just discussing this with my mentor and our brokerages sales manager.  With 900+ agents, couple of office workers come in sick, it can get hundreds sick.  That is what happened to her, one sick officer worker came in and now she is sick.   We discussed no coming into work if you are not feeling well, as it will add up to more lost productivity.  Feel better!
