It works. Having said that . . . I go out 'incognito' a lot to avoid being stopped and engaged, which has varying degrees of effectiveness. I meet the best people through my dog. That's who I want as clients.

Many years ago I did wear a name badge and yes, it did create conversations.  Unfortunately, I 've also seen these badges worn in church and at funerals which, in my opinion, is just in bad taste.  Be tasteful in how you present yourself to the public.

Absolutely no harm doing.  I was in the Mediterranean wearing a KW T-shirt. A fellow from Silicon Valley(my town) asking me which office I worked at....

I think T-shirt or company shirt is better.....

Sometimes yes, but there are plenty of places where it is in bad taste to do this type of marketing.

I am kidded often, from other agents, and yet it is seldom while in a line or store or some public place that someone does not want to talk to me about it.  I just happen to always carry enough cards to be sure any answers I can give them comes with one of those cards.     Mark

I can give examples of agents standing in line at the grocery store wearing a name badge and a conversation and new client ensues. We used to have a badge, "Get a lot while your young" which was all about buying land. It led to some very interesting conversations. Some upper tier agents abhor badges and clothing with a company brand. If it works in your market place it's darn dirt-cheap  advertising.

David Soles I worked for a Broker a while back who always told agents who complained about not have enough business to put on their gold jacket and name tag and walk the mall passing out business cards. I don't know any who did it. The did set up a kiosk in the mall, but it didn't do very well.

As each activity is different that would be the deciding factor.

For naormal activities I will; funerals and formal parties no.

I had a t shirt that had " the best kept secret about foreclosures " along with an 800 number. It was printed on both sides. If someone was embarrassed to look you in the face and write down the number I thought having it in my back was easy . My son wears this shirt a lot now.

I've never worn them but I've seen other agents with them on. Where I live, on weekdays, especially during lunch, all you see are people wearing badges around their neck or clipped to their belt. Though I would consider a T-shirt with a logo on it, on more casual days.

I don't very often myself, I just don't feel like I want to be that kind of Realtor.

However, back-stepping a bit, I do wear my very small Realtor logo pin out and about, but only during the day, not at night with friends or family.
