I read the full article because I try to comment on something specific in the article or add something extra. I also, like Michael Thacker try to read the comments, unless there are too many. I learn a lot from comments too.

I can't answer for everyone else, but if I am going to comment on a post, I will read the entire thing. I will often read all the comments as well, unless there are like over 50. Then I will skim them.

I think it is about 50% and say that based on the comments that make a statement that is totally off target. I read many of the comments though not all.

I read the whole post, and sometimes if it is too long, I don't continue to read it and don't comment, unless the subject is compelling...However, based on the comments I get it is clear that some don't get past the first sentence. LOL A
