For many, many reasons I use a CPA.  Chief amongst those reasons is I wouldn't hire a plumber to sell my house!  The tax code is immense and crazy.  If you want any chance in making sure the taxes are done right, hire a professional.  Just like you wouldn't hire a plumber to sell your house, don't hire a Realtor to do your taxes!

Professional, there are many things like that, that we are not worth our time learning about.  A

I do my own taxes.  It is much faster, efficient, simpler, free, I don't need to explain anything and it is correct.

I have a CPA who writes off all the necessary things, I would always leave it to a professional.

An accountant as there is just too much to keep track of.

There's my husband, who's a semi-professional at it by now, who handles all the day to day record-keeping and gathering. But the final docs are all done by a professional.

We have used a CPA for 30 years. Our return is now over 150 pages long because of all the entities we are involved in. The same accountant does 75% of those entities' tax returns too. It's complicated.

We used to do it ourselves but the money invested in paying a professional has been well worth it.

I have a CPA. 

I never do my own taxes. I do not want to be liable if there are any mistakes. I'm a single mom working as independent contractor and somehow IRS always has some questions to me.

Professional.  I wouldn't dream of doing it any other way.  I think mine was more like 60+ pages.

I have a degree in Financial Management and always do my own. I used to have a CPA check it but rarely do now.

We are in QuickBooks daily and our fields are aligned with our CPA's. On January 2nd we can hit a button and send to him. This saves about two weeks of backtracking time, or more for some folks, and it also saves money since it saves the CPAs time. 

Same CPA who is also an attorney for decades now...

I definitely have a CPA, and she keeps me on track so I do not get behind in paying taxes.

Do you do your own taxes is like selling your own home with no experience... NO.. CPA only... Not even a bookkeeper  NONONO

No way do I do my ow taxes, I have a CPA and like you I would definitely be lost if I tried to do my own.

I neatly prepare all the accounting records and send them off to our CPA so she can finalize them. Fortunately for my wife and I we have complicated income streams and investment earnings, so getting a CPA involved is a wise investment.

CPA  I wouldn't go without one.  It would be like being a FSBO instead of using a Realtor.  Too much room for error, loss or law suits.

We used to do our own, now we use a professional.

I use a professional.  It's just way to complicated to do myself, or even with Turbo Tax.

I delegat this task, and she does an excellent job.

Use a pro; too complex for me - stocks, Ed IRA's; bond redemptions; dividends, estate - makes my head spin. I tried looking things up, but too scared to make a mistake as rules change so often and there are so many different forms.
