Bianca,
We like Nordstrom's motto, one holiday at a time. They don't display Christmas decorations, until the day after Thanksgiving. A

In my opinion, that is way too early. I'm still in Halloween mode.

Lol...I don't celebrate Halloween either and it also bugs me. It takes the meaning of holidays out of context...it is too commercialized.

I don't shop in stores often, do all I can online. What bothers me is that if you don't shop early then the stock is depleted well before the holiday and you have no chance on finding the item you want until next year. That happens online too.

I went to home deport today to get fire ant granules and christmas decorations where for sale. It is nuts! Next year is christmas stuff going to be for sale right after labor day?

I think it is much more special when everything is in its proper time slot. Home Depot has Halloween Thanksgiving and Christmas all out for a few weeks already. It spoils it for me.

I saw a huge display in Home Depot this week, and SO not ready! Think it should be more like first of November, not October!

If they didn't have shoppers buying/needing these items, they wouldn't stock them. Obviously, there is a need for some people who like to (or have to) start early. Perhaps they sending gifts overseas?? As I often say, I keep my head down and eyes on my own paper! Why would I choose to allow this to bother me? Less than a first world problem.

As I do not own the company it is none of my business!
That is like fast food workers demanding $15 an hour and not haveing money invested in the company!

Blanca Barajas It should not be allowed. All the holidays have been too commercialized over the years.

Some retailers like to bring out the snow suits to sell in June / July. I remember one year a couple of years ago when a retailer was selling snow suits on the hottest day of the year in July. However, that same retailer does not carry snow suits in the winter or late fall.
Some stores sell Christmas decorations year-round.
I don't worry about when stores sell items for different holidays or seasons.

Good Saturday morning Blanca. Way to early! Years ago we did not see Christmas decorations until Thanksgiving.

I think October is way too early. I don't start to really get into the spirit until around Thanksgiving.

If I were a store owner, the earlier the better, but since I'm not, I wish they would wait until after Thanksgiving.

SO not ready for it! Trying to enjoy the nice Indian Summer/fall/Halloween.

Personally, I absolutely HATE it! I feel it just speaks to the commercialization of the holiday. I remember a time when everyone held to the idea that the day after thanksgiving was the appropriate start time for decorating. I've already seen some christmas trees out in September and it just drives me nuts.
July for a day, I understand. There is a huge Christmas in July celebration and craft fair out in So Cal (some scholars believe that Jesus was actually born in July based upon scientific findings).

I don't really care one way or the other. The gift of selective reality is programming your mind on the positive, and not obsessing on the negative.
