i would think as a independent contractor, while policies need to be followed. and there should be periodic get togethers, YOUR client and biz need to come first. do i want to be at meeting where we talk about contract problems and i havent had a problem in 4 years? hell no

I'm a big believer in agendas. Also, agents who have issues should try to get on them so that everyone can come prepared. I don't believe in meetings just to have meetings that aren't organized.

First off, I am reporting a LOT of spammers this morning!
Secondly, answering the question, I do like to have an agenda beforehand. We have meetings weekly at my office, and I rarely make them. Not sure why, I always seem to have a list of items to do to further my business, and I don't have time to attend. Maybe I should try harder?

I think it would be nice to know whether or not you want to attend. Perhaps that is why they don't tell you...

Our office used to have meetings on Wednesday, and yes, wanted to know what the subject matter was before committing.

Hi Debbie -- for company-wide meetings, there is typically a topic and agenda presented in advance. I wish the same were true for office meetings which are held weekly.

There are certain subjects that I wouldn't want to miss. Attorney, New Homes or City updates would be at the top of the list. Yes, knowing that they will be at the meeting is important for me as well as the presenter and our company. Having a free lunch, not so much.

I like to know what is on the agenda of any meeting I am invited to attend. In a busy world it takes prioritizing to get the most important items done.

I would think so, especially if it might involve lengthy travel and a good commitment of time.

Yes. That would be a helpful practice but it is not what I have actually experienced with office meetings.

I always try to attend as it sets an example for the newbies and you never know there might be something to help my business.

I look at the agenda and if the topics are of interest and I have time, I may go.

Yes, I think it only courteous on the part of the broker to provide an agenda. Many of our meetings become more promotional pitches for sponsors that real updates on the market or industry.

If the broker has betrayed the agents previously by presenting a pile of BS, the agent reserves the right to protect their most valuable, non-renewable asset, their time.
My broker has so few meetings I would compel myself to be their. It will be important.
I've learned long ago, there is a reason no agenda is published. If you knew what was to be presented you would not come. A CLUE.

Office meetings are rare these days, although the last one a few weeks back was to be on the new TRID regs. i had already paid and registered for that class at NVAR, so I didn't attend the office meeting. So yes, I would like to know what the office meeting is for ahead of time so I don't end up registering for the same class twice. And I can't rely on the office to schedule meetings on topics I want to learn more about.

Good morning Debbie. We seldom have office meetings, but when one is called, everyone knows there is a good reason.

I would try to be there no matter what. Although we quit doing formal company meetings a few years ago. I was the one that kept forgetting to show up after they changed the day. When you only have three people in your office, though, it's easy to get together and we now have impromptu meetings.

I enjoy our meetings as it is nice to see the other agents in the office. But yes, I do check the agenda as every day has its priorities.

Sounds good to me Debbie, we have a meeting every Monday morning at 9:30 and you do not get an agenda. I do enjoy the meetings though.

Like Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint our brokerage has regular meetings. We make sure at least one of our team is present and we find they are generally valuable.

Out of respect for my broker I do my best to make all the meetings. They are held same time so my appointments can easily be made around the meeting. No not every meeting is stuffed with information I felt absolutely necessary. Mark
