I don't really care... but it seems to me that an inspector would drive a truck for all kinds of equipment that might not fit in a car (ladders, coming to mind).

One large enough to have a ladder and tools to do the job. It should be neat, clean and lettered marking who they are or comoany name

I think they should arrive in what ever vehicle they own.  I'm looking for their ability, not their mode of transportation.

As long as it runs I'm fine. You can also dress theway you want, just get the inspection right and be fair.

I have always seen them with a truck. I guess it is because it can hold the ladder. 

Truck. That speaks to me they are prepared with ladders for the roof and they have all their equipment with them to get the job done.

I think a self advertised wrapped limo would be perfect!

I don't know that it matters, but I think it's cool when you get a vanity plate.  Mine is "FLOORGRL."

It seems to me that any utility vehicle with appropriate signage and as Scott Godzyk has pointed out; room for a ladder and tools.

Whatever he can carry the tools of his trade!

It doesn't matter to me what they show up in as long as they have everything needed to do a good job.

Michael Thornton I have seen my inspector using truck - with all his 'tools' including ladder (big enough not to fit it car, perhaps.)

A not brand new FORD truck.

It communicates to me they know how to get stuff done.

The inspector rolling up in a Kia communicates someone trying to make a buck.

They may be equally skilled or the Kia may be superior, but that was not your question. Your question was 'What the best ride for an inspector?"

I’m a lot more interested in how the inspector looks, and their manner with the client, than type of vehicle.

A vehicle large enough to carry their tools and ladder.  I don't care how they got there as long as they have the eqpuipment to do their job professionally.

It doesn't matter.  We use a few different inspectors and they drive different things.  Collapsible ladders can fit in any car.   

Whatever suits them, the terrain in which they work and the tools it is capable of carrying that they need for their trade.

I am more interested in the tools they show up with.....

Michael -- I've seen inspectors arrive in very small cars to large trucks.  It doesn't make a difference to me although I must say a clean and well-maintained vehicle makes a much better impression.
