I've been a broker since 2006. No looking back. Best thing I ever did.

I became a real estate broker while still in law school to prepare myself to open my first real estate office after graduation.

I opened my company 6 years ago, and have never really wanted agents with me, but the last couple of years have been so busy, would love to have help.

I've been a broker in two states. Have no interest in running a team of realtors, its like herding cats.

I'm literally creating both scenarios right now.
I'm taking my broker's classes as of September 2015 and transforming my "informal tribe" into a team legally. However, I've hired a broker of record; I still want to sleep at night. But my boutique shop is underway. It's why I left Coldwell Banker in August after 12 years with them...I'm going for it...it's my exit strategy.

Here in NH i was able to take my brokers test after 1 year of full time work and the additional class time. That was 29 years ago and been a broker ever since.

Yes Winston Heverly - that is the goal - at least it is easy to do so at Keller Williams. (Have systems in place.)

After 25 years I became my own broker last year. Should have done it earlier.

I prefer to concentrate on running my team and let the broker in our office handle the icky work.

I have found that having a brokers license may be just that, Being independent has advantages and disadvantages. Name recognition may be more important with an established name behind you.

My plan for next year was to get my Broker's license. I have the required years of service as a Realtor and education level, but my years of service are too far back to count. So now I must wait until 2H 2017.

I am planning on getting my brokers license in the near future but I don't think I will have my own brokerage. I'm not looking to create a team.

Am a broker in two states. Have talked about having agents for the past couple of years, but keep putting it off. Don't want to train new agents, only want seasoned ones if I do. In the meantime, I'm still "inventing" my brokerages and having great fun at it. And doing very well, thank you.

I am all about the team building right now but doing it in multiple states. Maybe in the future a broker, but it is not in my immediate to-do list.

We are both brokers - however - we prefer to pay a designated broker and a brokerage for that function and overhead.

I've always been a broker associate....had my broker's license from day one.... and started my team when I was about 10 years from retirement....it takes time and testing...

No. I haven't the patience to be a long term babysitter.
Short engagements in training or coaching is more suitable.
