Had one in a B&B we stayed in a few months ago and hated it. Not for everyone.

That sounds awesome. Make sure you have proper tile/ceiling and venting to work with that.

Hi Sally-yes I do in my house in Mexico. It is very relaxing and great for the skin as the climate there is dry desert. It will do wonders for you in the winter up there!

I don't, but then again, I don't care for anything overly hot or steamy.

They are wonderful !!! Any of my listings with these installed are really considered extra value for the buyers. I always have fresh eucalyptus hanging in mine which helps with my breathing. (I think)

Sally K. & David L. Hanson We don't - in fact - I haven't heard of it before. I'll have to check with Suzanne - she is way ahead of me when it comes to these types of things! Tony

If I was in a cold climate I wouldn't build a house without it.

I have heard nothing but good things about this. Also, if you ever have been to a steam room, it works wonders for the whole psyche plus the body

Sally,
We don't have one, and have discussed installing one. We have tried it at spas and really enjoyed it. A

The downtown condo I just got under contract has a steam shower, and the buyer's agent mentioned that was one of his reasons for buying, besides location. I have sinus issues, and would love a steam shower.

Yes and no! I have a gym with a steam room and a sauna. I love the steam room, but I don't use it that much. It is good for removing dead skin and I find it does help with the sinuses. I BELIEVE, with no scientific proof to back up my beliefs, that it gives your sinuses and lungs a good steam cleaning. I do find it relaxing and that it helps with relieving muscle soreness and DOMS (Delayed Onset Muslce Soreness... it's a weight lifting thing). To really get the benefits though, I find I need to spend 10-15 minutes minium in there. I used to lay down on the top row of seats on a towel and bring water with me. Would spend a good 30 minutes like that back in the day.
With that said, I would NOT put one in my house nor a sauna. Too niche and won't do anything for resale value.

No. We do not have a steam shower. Those hot showers may not be the best for your skin.

they are a nice addition if you like steam. venting and access can be an issue. seating is needed as pointed out. the wall surface can we an issue. just for the heck of it, look at Japanese soaking tub. i like them better, i get a bit claustrophobic in the steam shower. the tub goes up to your neck (or it can)

Sally K. & David L. Hanson great idea to have that - though no personal experience.
And I know one of the buyers insisted on a bath with this and few other features.
