Without a doubt...listing.

You control the transaction on the listing side. It is after all a seller's market. Too much competition as a buyer's agent due to multiple offers in this market. Good luck. Wishing you much success in your career. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

I suggest you focus on finding buyers from sphere of influence.  People see you through know you can not present seller as good as experienced local specialist.  Style of homes, builder floor plans, track record. They have a list of buyers already just to fill their needs.

This famous broker in Palo Alto who netted $40m in commission each year (not a typo) stated: " Do not divert your focus. Find buyers the first few years and they will come back ask you to sell".  Agents on AR many have been around than age of the new agents. They prefer to sell with people they have done business before   Good luck,

I prefer being on sellers side, but that is because I LOVE the marketing side of the business so much!

You can get into the business quicker and start making money faster on the buyer side. As your tenure in the business grows, those buyer clients turn into sellers and then you become a listing agent.

EVERYONE wants to be on the listing side. (I'll save the why for later.)

We love listings! Buyers can be exasperating.

Listing.  You can handle more sellers then buyers and you can manage your time better.

 Good Friday morning Melanie. From what I understand the listing side is much easier.

I prefer to be on the seller's side.  Like others said, I enjoy the marketing piece of it.  I also find it to be a little more relaxing, although it does mean my Sundays can get filled up with open houses.

Working with buyers can be good for repeat business too as Sam said, but a seller has to find another place to move to.  That's nice when one transaction can turn into two.  :)

Listings, you have more control and listing signs give you more exposure to build your brand.

representing the seller usually. thou its always good to be on what ever side the market is leaning too

I am mostly a buyers agent,  I like it.

I have no particular preference, both are great but know that neither arrive on my schedule it's always theirs. 

I like being on both sides - I don't think you have to choose. They involve different skill sets and are very different jobs - but I enjoy a certain amount of variety.

If you are new you need the experience of both sides. One will help you understand the other by seeing both sides of the transaction.

I think you will find it depends on the client and the properties involved. Ideally you are working with great clients and great properties. If the client or property is wrong, it doesn’t matter if you are listing or helping a buyer.

Listings are the best use of your time, and they will generate buyers for you.

I have always enjoyed working with buyers. Much depends on what you can do most productively.
