The lack of communication drives my nuts. A simple text saying, "I'm with someone now. I will get back to you asap". But no, I've waited a couple of days and then have to contact the other agent again before hearing from them. No excuse.

I don't get it, myself. We tried to get in touch with a Realtor for about two weeks to just get a stupid RFA signed for our client and she never returns emails or voicemails. Every time I reach her live, she makes up an excuse that they are having internet problems. And she gave me a fax number that does not work. There are such things as smart phones or going somewhere with free wifi, like a coffee shop, if you care enough about your clients. So now, we're finding someone new and not working with her anymore *wipes hands*

This is probably the worst part - waiting right now for a lender that should have accompanied the offer yesterday, and the response time was an hour ago, and agent is nowhere to be found!

A lot of it seems to be phone phobia! It's often the "simple" communications that are the most puzzling!

The lack of communication is a weird trend in real estate. I don't get it.
I understand a busy day, but not an ongoing lack of response is baffling. It could be that rude and disrespectful realtors decide not to call back because they can.
They think that no one will remember this behavior. They're wrong.

It's no excuse, but it can get busy out in the field. I'm pretty good with communication and there are days I falter because I'm with clients all day.

It drives me crazy, I think at the very least a reply or text of I got your offer and I'll get back to you tonight just to confirm you got it should be easily done with access to email everywhere now days.

Dealing with some of the agents can be one of the most difficult aspects of the real estate business.
It is best to have low expectations.

I showed my personal house that is for sale the other other day. The agent texted me when he left and noted "it went well, I'll call you tomorrow. The showing was on Saturday, I still have not heard from him even after texting and sending an email to follow-up. There is zero professionalism these days, and is why most consumers view us just above a used car sales person.

Folks have lost their way. They need to be reminded that we achieve our goals by helping others achieve theirs. Effective communication with your potential co-brokers helps your client.

I do not like it, it's unprofessional; unfortunately happens in every industry.

It really is a bit of an annoyance when dealing with a Realtor that just does not respond. The communication is not there. It makes us look bad when we do not have updates or basic information that we are seeking for our client. It makes me extra super annoyed when I express to the Realtor that this is our third request or whatever the case and the response is, "I am sorry, I am so stupid busy right now." REALLY? Well, who isn't??? We are all busy! A simple text response would be wonderful. Just sayin'.....

We are all in this industry together. We should have each other's back. All for one and one for all.

Winston - It's frustrating, and I can't understand how they continue to get/stay in business.

Can be infuriating.
Have a deal now where I emailed an intro to the listing agent once the offer was accepted, and several times since on my Tuesday update. No response whatsoever. Found out Monday there is a mechanic's lien on the condo. I spoke w/ title agent about it, emailed both agents and didnt hear back from either one.
Thank God the title agent 'gets it'. We had it solved before either agent responded to any of our calls or emails.

It use to drive me bonkers. Now I don't let it bother me as much...
Can't change something I have no control of. As long as I am able to communicate with fellow realtors, I can sleep soundly at night.

People are people. Some enjoy building relationships and others could care less. Some are self serving and others take pride in their profession. I choose to communicate and expect the same in return. I'll let someone know if they are out of line, that is unless they offer a unique benefit to kissing their...

Lazy and it lacks professionalism. I think all of us could put more effort into this part of the business.

I have no such problem.
Why?
I don't allow it to occur.
Is it because I exist in an environment different than yours?
Of course not. I anticipate failure, and pre-empt it.
Stop relying on your convenience's and start communicating. You will find your persist presence keeps the dialog going or FORCE clarity and intent.
