I think a blog should be primarily original content.  But there are some posts that really deserve to be re-blogged

I do see your point. I think a blog should have original content. At least some original contest. It shouldn't be all information from others. I think that blogger loses credibility because of that. 

As a member, though, when I go to comment back on someone and all I see is re blogs...well I give up. I will leave a comment on a re blogged post. Although I try to find original content first. 

I personally do very little re blogging. 

 Good Sunday morning Tammy. I think a lot of folks do it (reblogging) just for the points.  I don't do much re-blogging unless the post really speaks to me.

I remember when I first started AR, I din't even know what a blog was, so I started reading others.  It was quite a while before I got up the nerve to write something that I felt others would read.

I just overlook it.  Maybe they are just starting out or learning how all this works.  Now those that have been here for years......there's no excuse!

I do very little reblogging these days but I do see some good content that deserves to be sent around again. There are some still not comfortable writing their own content and want to participate so they reblog. I am okay with that too.

I rarely reblog, Tammy. It has to be something that I think is of real value added to the "public." And, frankly, most of my posts are public driven, not just member-driven.

I reblog rarely - typically when I see something so fabulous that is getting very little attention. I think in a community like this, the serial rebloggers have a niche and serve a purpose.

Everyone who is ActiveRain has their own objectives for their blog.  Some prefer to reblog.  It is fast and easy and creates content for their readers who may or may not notice or care that the content is not their own.

Yes, I agree. Simply reblogging does nothing for your business and your reputation on here.

I think the majority should be your own content and yes, then I think it's fine to reblog as well.

Good morning Tammy. I seldom re-blog anything, but see it a lot. Personally if is done by someone I follow, I will still comment, even when I already commented on the original post.

My good friend Roy Kelley will be unhappy with this answer but I hardly ever re-blog. I should do more but have no excuse. Most of what I do is my content of a quote.

I like to see original content.  There are some people who write a single line and a link to some article.  That doesn't interest me at all.

I always reciprocate comments and if they have reblogged a post I comment on it. They only receive 25 points for reblogging and no points for comments. I do not reblog posts though . 

i feel like were on the same page today. i think it was the 2nd time today in 2 months that i reblogged (this time i did it correctly lol) i think original content is the way to go

Sometimes a reblog is the best they can do, I am content with either.

I rarely reblog, and I think I should do more of it....much more....there are many advantages to reblogging....Google juice is the #1 benefit....there are many bloggers who want desperately to write their own posts, but they are insecure about their writing talent...rather than NOT participate, they reblog....and I'm always happy for them that it's available....

I schedule re-blogs for every day. It is one of my ways to pay it forward and to share good content. Re-blogs are not a substitute for my own blogs.
