As long as she was clothed, I would not be embarassed at all...Now if she showed up naked, then I would be throwing a sheet over her. A

I stopped caring Paul. I had a client come to a closing in flop flops and cargo shorts, beat up frayed ones too. I think anyone who goes out in public in sweat pants except if not on the way to the gym has a problem.

Not embarrassed but certainly wondering what they are thinking on a few occasions.

only one time and we had an appointment with an occupied home and when Mr. sellers' eyes nearly popped out of his head and Mrs. Seller saw him oogling Mrs. Buyer I was a bit embarrassed. It wasn't pajamas and a sweatshirt. It was closer to underwear.

No I haven't. I guess living in the South we are not quite as liberal and more traditional.

Thats funny. My story wasn't necessarily embarrasing but a family (adult children) was coming over from the other coast to view properties. They kept missing the exit ramp. When they finally arrived they all crawled out of a PT Cruiser wearing matching coveralls. I was at the office watching this through the window. I thought at least 20 more clowns would climb out.

This is awesome! Definitely going to happen to everyone at some point. It's a big deal to me what both the agent and client wear; however, other people don't see it the same way. Personally, I would be embarrassed dressing like that!

good question, and i think clothing choices have changed over the years. i have looked twice before at their choice, but it isnt my place to discuss. unless it reflects on me, and sometimes it does

Yes, but more embarrassed for them of their ignorance of proper dress. Skimpy tank tops with nothing supporting "the girls" is a cringer...

I don't care what anyone wears. I care that they are qualified to make a purchase.
Sellers may care, so I might give a heads up so they're not shocked or under the impression I'm showing their property to someone who lacks the means to purchase it.

Clients show up in all sorts of things. It doesn't bother me. They are the ones that should be concerned with how they look.

In the winter time, I definitely enjoy flannel PJ bottoms and a sweatshirt! In the summer, no. Would I go outside to look at homes as a buyer that way, no. I'd never leave my property dressed like that unless it was to a pajama themed party.
I don't really care what a buyer shows up in. If it makes them comfortable it might make them more willing to write that offer.

Paul S. Henderson, Realtor, Tacoma Washington It doesn't surprise what people will wear in public.

No problem for me --- I dress professionally always, never drifting below business casual - but what annoys/bothers me more is the attire my peers show up in - at meetings and properties. Just last week I looked around the room and thought -- geez am I at some club or at a sales rally?
Dress the part is what I say.

Some people have a different opinion on public dress. It doesn't bother me what others wear. As long as I'm dressed appropriately, that's all I worry about. And finding them the right property.

That's an interesting question. I would have to say that I don't think I have ever been embarrassed by what my clients were wearing. On the other hand, I have shown at with my clients to tour a home when we thought the tenants or owners had left for our tour and had them answer the door in some rather, in my opinion embarrassing atire.

I would have been very embarrased by that. I don't understand this trend I see of girls/women out in public in their PJ's and bedroom slippers. All I can think of is lazy slob-I will not tolerate it and will not have my reputation tarnished or questioned by such nonsense.

Good morning Paul. Many years ago, when in the business, I showed someone a home that drove a tractor to my office.

I have not been embarrassed by the clients, I have been embarrassed by what some of the real estate agents have been wearing.

No, I would not. If he is motivated fully ready and capable to buy, I do not care what he/she wears ( and I did have clients with strange dress choices, trust me: PJ is nothing, you can see a lot of people wearing PJs in here just because it is very comfy).

Paul - It doesn't really matter to me what my client shows up wearing, as long as they qualify for the purchase. I know a lot of people with money who you could never tell by the way they dress.
