Until you cancel they will likely be up there.

I really don't know how that works...in my town alone there are 61 people on activerain who are inactive.

For now they do, it does inflate our numbers a bit, but that is generally a good thing.

This is a issue that does need attention. We also have some deceased members.
I would like to see an 'Inactive' or 'Deceased' designation next to the names of these members. The new ownership did say that they plan a campaign to activate old members.

That is an interesting question. I am sure the Brokers of the companies where these members used to work will not like the fact that it shows that these memebrs work for their office.

Good morning Daniel. I have asked AR this question before. Was told they don't take them down, the reason I asked was because a person had passed away.

In general, ActiveRain does nothing. I am aware of a small number of situations where ActiveRain has actually deleted (or removed from viewing) profiles and the related blogs, either upon request or for other reasons.

just like it's not up to Facebook to take down profiles it's not up to ActiveRain. If you passed away tomorrow is there someone who would take yours down? Maybe those people still get referrals if they get calls from their profiles. Just because they aren't active in your market doesn't mean they can't refer or guide a client.

They haven't done anything in the past about they say they are working on doing something so active members can rise faster in teh rankings.

So far nothing is being done about that, but I wouldn't hesitate to send an email to support with the profiles of those no longer in the business. It might give them the idea that some house cleaning needs to be done.

I'm glad to see Cindy Jones saying the new management may clean house in this area. It is confusing when looking for referral agents, and I like using AR as part of my qualifying process for outbound referrals.

It's simple; they don't.
Same w/ every other online platform. LinkedIn has tons of outdated info on people's jobs. So dues Zillow and Truli.

In the past they have not done anything with dead profiles. The new ownership is aware this can be causing issues when we are looking for referals. We may see a change in the future.

it would appear so, i certainly dont have the answer, i also wonder about people who havent posted a blog in years. they remain here...i know that ads to "membership" thats why they remain i suspect
