When assisting your buyer in the purchase of a HUD home; have any of you even had any problems with HUD trying to "force" your buyer to use their Title/Closing company?

It has only been in the last year and a half that we have had a choice. Well, that's not totally true. If we did not use their title company they would not pay for the title work, which a Seller pays in our market.

My broker is a HUD broker in Florida and HUD will let buyer select the closing agent/title company. However, in that case buyer will pay for title fees.

Yes, it happens a lot. Though typically when you use their company they will pay for the title. If you select your own, you will be responsible for the fees.

In your case, in FL, HUD or their assigneds will call the shots regarding title/closing.
