I make all my client data as safe and secure as possible.  It's a big deal.

I am still trying to figure out why any agent would need the buyers credit card or SS number in the first place.

Very. I do not share anything that is confidential and make it a practice to not collect social security numbers. I let me client deal directly with the title company on that. They are the ones that need it anyway.

Not easy to retrieve from our trash. We use a cross-shredder for all printed material that contains personal data. Our computers are password protected and personal files are encrypted. So we've done what we can to make it hard to steal the data.

Usually don't write down information like that, however anything even remotely important gets shredded before going out to the trash.

As confidential as the personal information of government employee's and contractors with 'Secret" clearance.

We shred documentation before it goes in the recycle bin. 

Paper shredders are inexpensive options for home offices.
