Absolutely. Having an involved and knowledgeable broker who will stand up for their agents is essential.

Daniel - Sounds like you and your team did the right thing. You need support from your Principle Broker.
I never had to leave a brokerage because of that, but did leave a brokerage because they constantly hounded me, looked over my shoulder, questioned how I spent my time, made me listen to all sorts of motivational stuff, and made me memorize (word for word) about an hour long listing presentation. It was too much, and I didn't feel like I could be myself, and I hated that feeling.

Oh YES. A broker is there to support and assist you in improving your business. If there is the question regarding ethics coming from your broker, it is time to run out the door.

I left a company that I was the QB at due to lack of support from the owner. I like having my own business better.

No, rather, we left for numerous reasons, but not lack of support. That is something that should be investigated before joining by speaking with others in the prospective office.

When the agent is no longer feeling the 'love' from those who take their money, the agent will look over the fence.
And THAT is the moment for which every other recruiting broker is waiting
Just make certain your selection criteria is logical and mature.

Yes, I did not feel the love and my managing broker (that was loved and coming off a great year!) was bushwacked and replaced...

Well it is crucial, absolutely critical I shall say for and Firm to have a supportive Broker to back them up in what's right. I, as a Broker would never ever question any of my Agents why they followed the Law of all things! That would be absurd.

brokers are people, and people have weaknesses. i suspect the other agent was a weakness for the broker. as personalities do come into play. with some brokers. sounds like you did the right thing. careful, or i going to recruit betty boop away from you.
