It depends on both of the party's attitudes.  It should be a win win, rather than a resentful exchange.  However to minimize feelings, we have rarely had both parties in the room at the same time.  It was done separately when their were hard feelings.  A

That's a tough one, Debbie. Good question! This can go both ways. It really depends on the people I think, and how this situation is handled to ensure both parties are satisfied. We can't always be in control of keeping everyone happy at all times, but we can sure do our best and be in good tune with our Clients to handle situations the very best with TLC.

Debbie Reynolds - both of them are equally unhappy!

However, if we can justify the reason for that difference, they should understand! It's not you who is responsible for that anyways.

OUCH! I've always made sure that both parties are not in the same room at the same time. Even if everything is going smoothly, someones feelings can be hurt and emotions are running pretty high on both sides by closing. And if one of them is paying more or getting less -- the emotions can get out of check fast.

Debbie Reynolds I think having to bring more money that they don't have. They often expect the agents to kick in the funds.

Neither will be a happy camper. But it might be harder for the buyer to come up with more money.

The buyer or seller who arrives at the closing table without knowing exactly what is expected should fire somebody, the title company, attorney or agent.

Other that that, getting less and paying more has ALWAYS been the result according to each ones point of view.

However addressing your is the buyer's issue that will prove to be the show stopper and of greatest concern. That mortgage broker needs to understand their referral link is at stake and they best have a good Plan B.
