I keep it in mind and use lots of white space because I know that attracts eyes. Color is used appropriately to grab the attention. I do not overdo.

Yes all the time, A/B split testing is so important and almost no one does it. Especially for logo's color can be huge!

I really haven't. I use red a lot because I like it and it's a power color. Red, white, and blue are RE/MAX colors so I incorporate those.
