I refer all of the business that comes in from my marketing to my team members.... I told them from day 1 that I only want to know that the homeowner was contacted; they got the listing; and I don't want to know anything else until there's an accepted offer....at that time, I want to know the sale price and closing date.... I don't need to know anything else, unless there's a problem.

It varies depending on the situation. I prefer to let the other agent do their thing and I don't get in the way. Although recently I was involved on one referral every step of the way.

After I give a referral, I do check in monthly, or when the client is expected to do a transaction, and then hear when it will close.   I try to stay clear, and let them do their job.

Usually, I give it and forget it - except that follow up with my referral, Julia van Mook

However, once I had to be with my referred personal at every point!

Pretty much let them do their own thing.  Otherwise I wouldn't have referred them.

I ask several questions when I interview another agent to refer a client to, and if they pass the test, I let them run with it.

I also agree with Barbara Todaro let the team that is good at their roles do their part. You hired them and hopefully saw how good they are before giving them leads to work. It allows us team leaders, owners, etc to focus on the most important tasks like getting more leads/business.

My practice has been to keep the client in our database and to continue to be a source of information and support. Referrals became our primary business.

Depends on the origin of that buyer/seller.

If there is a chain of association that reaches my sphere, I must participate in a positive outcome.

If I have no association with the buyer/seller I simply maintain communication with the BROKER, not the agent. The BROKER would love to have additional referrals to bolster the value provided for those fees agents pay.
