I had a strong push off the blocks with many family members in the right place to feed me business.... my first sale was a listing that I was set up with the first week in real estate and I sold it myself with the buyer that was fed to me.... the point of this story is, make sure you have plenty of "bird-dogs" out there delivering business to you...this is a business of, first and foremost, who you know....the rest will fall into place...

It happened fast for me. A lucky strike? Not sure but, deals do fall out sometimes though and you have to just be patient and never count your chickens till the eggs are hatched and in your hand..nothings for sure until that Sale is actually closed. You learn as you go through trial and error or just bad timing. Hang in there, Ross, and never give up.

About a day, and priced at a higher price than my broker thought it would sell for.

It took me 5 months for my first sale, Ross.  (Two hurricanes came through after I started which didn't help.)

I started on July 1st 2009 and closed my first sale in October and had 3 closings by the end of the year. The other two were November and December, one each month.

About 5 months Ross, listing was where I began and 90 days was the term of our contracts. I must have been doing something right because the first 4 did not need extensions. 

I jumped in 2000 the market was smoking hot and I had a buyer week one.  The rest as they say is history.

way back when in the early 1990's in NYC, it took six months--but they had warned us to be ready for a four to six month time frame.

Good morning Ross. In my first month I had my first sale and it fell apart at the closing. Within 4 months I was making a decent living.

I think it was about 2 weeks. My first month I had two sales and a closing the next month. There have only been a few months when I didn't have a closing over the last 35 years.

got my license in August of 94, wrote my first offer on labor day weekend just two weeks later.  Haven't missed a month writing at least one contract in 21 years.

5 months Ross, it was a friend. They knew I was green and it gave me the confidence to learn I could make it as a Realtor. Excellent question.

6 months.  You might wish to consider a more professional picture.

10 months....I was letting go all potentail buyers. The aggressive agents just grabed any one say you sign it....

About 4 months. I have my first closing scheduled to occur within the next two weeks, pending second FHA appraisal. Fingers crossed.

I think everyone goes through that.  I don't remember if mine was 30-60 days.  My buyers looked at every house in town then decided on new construction.  I had lots of experience showing houses by the time I was done with them.  I think times are different now also.  The lenders are tightening up, all of the changes in legislation are making things a little harder to get through.  Keep shaking the tree, the leaves are going to fall!

1 week I was lucky. 

Till it closed, 4 month. I knew no one in the area so it was all my marketing, finding the lead, working it and closing.

The day I passed my RE Exam, I received a call from a childhood friend. It was great to reconnect with her as we havent heard from one another in years. She told me that her Dad was looking to sell his home and move down south. 

The home sold the first time within 2 weeks, but did not make it to closing. The house sold the second time 3 months later and make it to closing. 

It took me a few months to sell my first home. I started out working with investors so we had to work together to find a sweet spot but after that things flowed like clockwork. Stay focued and persistant, it will happen. Good luck!

I cant remember. Back in the late 1980's the interest rates were high compared to today it seems 1-2 months. 

I don't remember but I believe it was relatively quick.

I got 5 listings almost immediately, 2 months for my first sale!

I was lucky I had a friend who wanted to list right when I got my license.  She gave me a chance and we sold it it 2 weeks.  If you are new in the business I suggest you have a business plan, a daily schedule, follow up on all leads, and that you prospect for business every day

I had a listing in two weeks, my first buyer in July with an August closing.  I started in April.

30 days after it went under contract .  I know I'm being a smart a-- so I will tell you it took me almost 30 days in the business before I found a buyer to write an offer and then another 30 days until it closed so thsts 60 days and then I had to split 60/40 I think with my office.

3 months

I believe it was about 3 weeks to write my first offer and another 30 days or so for it to close. This business is a marathon not a sprint. Find your niche, build your farm area and cultivate it. It takes time but it is worth it.

I haven't gotten there yet!  Signed on with KW on March 23rd 2015 and my first client is in the process of being pre~qualified for a purchase as we speak.

I  stopped by a childhood friends home to see if she still lived there (working on my SOI) and to my surprise she did. After catching up on everything I gave her a few cards and she made a call to a friend introduced me over the phone and that was my first client! Just do not give up!!

About 2 weeks.   Turned out I was really  good on floor converting calls into buisness.  

In all honestly is probibly took only 2 months to have my first sale  but it took at least 2 years until I was making a profit at this business and not losing money every month.  It was hard.  Harder than I ever thought it would be.  It took 5 years before the leads were coming in without asking or begging for them -
