David Jain - You're right on track to close.  You don't have to show up for anything.

Keep your phone nearby for when your agent calls to tell you the good news that escrow has closed.

Congratulations on your purchase.

The agent seems to be correct. You need to hear from the escrow officer tell you it is  recorded then your realtor will hand you the key. Showing up at Orange County recorders office. No. That is what you pay the title company for.

Congrats.

I'm with the others, it's all kosher!

Recording of the title is done at the county building in Santa Ana by a clerk, no need to be there. Best Wishes on your new home in Irvine!

I'm in San Diego, David, and what your agent described is accurate for my city city, aw well. There is no need to visit escrow in order to close the deal. We don't have formal closings in this part of the world.

Hello David,

Yes, this is the typical procedure for So-Cal. We do not meet together for closings as some states do. The Title company will go down to the county office for recording, once this is completed your agent will be notified. They will then call you to confirm and make arrangements to give you the keys to your new home..
