Can a Realtor represent his own property in a short sale and being paid commissions? ( read more details below)

My good friend took over his Dad house with two liens. Recently his Dad is not doing well at all and my friend is really deep in debt with hospital bills ( hardship), he is paying only 1st and unlikely will catch up with 2nd. This agent does have an experience in negotiating a short sale. But can he represent himself and still being paid? He does not live in his dad house, he rents another property for many years. He is just waiting for the bank to get to kick his dad out, the house is in a good area, but in terrible condition ( no equity). Thank you!

No. I hope they have called their lender and explained the situation. Sitting around waiting for the bank to kick his dad out is ridiculous and stressful.
