I have GRI and CRS and garner more referrals from the CRS, but GRI gave me LOTS of knowledge I use today daily!

I'm a big proponent of the Certified Residential Specialist designation--best classes I ever took anywhere.

I personally feel that the GRI is one of the best designations you can get. I learned so much taking that course. I also really loved the IMSD...Internet Marketing Specialist Designation.

I have lots of designations. I don't advertise them anymore and I don't really have a good reason other than I think they clutter up the business card and have little meaning to the client (just my opinion and it could be wrong).  Of all designations, broker is the one that people may give weight to.

Cindy Dudley - I have my ePro, ePro 2.0, LMS, CDPE, CIAS - though should have GRI or CRS!

Any designation helps you grow yourself first - and then helps your clients. Education is the key to success.

In my area there is nothing better to put on your calling cards. MBA, JD, or phd.  About 50% agents have mba, broker associate credentials. 10-15% are esquires.

I have my ABR and SRS and I'm a Broker. I am seeing some benefit to it from an education and idea perspective. You get what you put into it.

Was looking at ePro next.

Definitely the ABR classes and also the MPR. But then we are a military community and these are valuable in the consumer's eyes.

I have GREEN, ABR, GRI, and EcoBroker designation. As Praful said, education is the key to success. Whatever you learn in your classes will help you better serve your clients.

I need to work on my CRS next.

The education is more important than the designations. For me, the most valuable was CPM (Certified Property Manager).

Hesitate the pay the required fees to maintain designations unless you see a return on your investment.

Annette Lawrence , thank you and I can agree about the letters available that have no meaning for the consumer.  I am taking the GRI classes to satisfy my SAE (1st renewal) requirements, not necessarily for the designation.  The BROKER designation does carry weight, as well it should.  But I am more interested in classes/education that was most helpful to doing business and serving clients.

Most helpful - broker

Why? Citizens do not believe the BROKER designation is a fake credential. There are way, way, way, way to many letters available for purchase that mean nothing to the consumer and are little more than vanity plates for an agent.
