Chris,
You are right about SEO, we think it is breathing its last breaths. With Rupert Murdoch buying Realtor.com, the last breath is coming sooner. It seems to me that most agents still are concerned about SEO, and they tout this and that for getting there. SEM for real estate in our experience is can show how many people are looking at a listing, but it is not necessarily capturing leads.
There is always the long tail, and the market reports, which when done right can bring about great leads. There is a guy that does it brilliantly. Of course, it takes work, more than copying and pasting the MLS data.
We preach coming up with a strategy that makes you the Google of your marketplace and not be focused on Google at all. Many do not understand that Google is trying to make $$$ and if your subject is dull, forget it, no sales can be generated by ads...I can go on,.. but I won't. A

I care about the Buyers getting the home that always dreamed about. The customers care about whether or not their budget can afford the payments, even when they have already been pre-qualified.

Most of my website visitors are looking for property searches. I care about capturing their info.

Sure can Ron & Alexandra Seigel ; most agents talk highly of SEO for their website, yet with the consolidation of online giants in the industry this will become harder and harder in the future. Is SEO still a concern among agents? In terms of what your customers are looking for, it is about community or local content. If this is what they are looking for, are agents providing it? I should ask an additional questions too - are you outsourcing your web-content or do you provide it yourself?
