I think it is a great idea. One of my Realtor partners was using Zillow for leads outside of Nashville, I offered to split the cost with him. Now we both recieve the lead, it's helped our conversion and we have certainly done enough business to warrent the cost.

I dont think it's a good idea for anyone to give either of these companies any money, BUT I would say a loan officer that does so is especially stupid - there are mortgage sections of both websites that promote less than reputable companies. Bottom line, these companies don't show who can help a borrower/buyer, they show whoever will pay them top dollar.

I believe in bringing value to a real estate agent's business, but there are far better ways of doing it than throwing money at Z or T.

I think it's great! I have a pet peeve about loan officers always approaching me with their hands out for business. VERY FEW LOAN OFFICERS have ever approached me with something to offer for MY business.
