Get a licence plate instead .. You can get a licence plate that says you are a Realtor .. Personally I think it is tacky to advertise on your car .. That is my humble opinion

I was with a team and my SUV was wrapped accordingly. I recently moved to an independent brokerage and my vehicle is clean. Pros of having the wrap are constant, passive advertising. I use my vehicle for personal and business purposes. Some places and/or circumstances just aren't proper for advertising...think church, funeral procession, special date night. And sometimes you just might want a little anonymity. I am considering a magnet though because I do think it helps to identify yourself with clients that you are meeting or when you are out and about doing business.

I'm not a big fan. Especially if you work with upscale clients.
Oh, and you'd better be a good driver too!

I think it depends on your local market and whether you will be using the vehicle exclusively for real estate or using it outside of work. Personally, I think it doesn't seem terribly professional, but that is just my $0.02...
I do have vanity Realtor license plates and they have started more than a few conversations.

Trisha,
Doing that to a luxury car is like putting lipstick on a pig in my humble opinion. We had a client who did that as a lark on a Smart car, and was forever embarassed.
I saw one wrap on the freeway that had a total wrap and pictured was the real estate guy driving it. I took a picture and was going to write a post, and decided not to, I did not want to offend him or the business of real estate.
I can see it working in a rural marketplace, and I would still not do it.

Car ads can be good if they're done well. Some of them are too loud and busy. I would think a simple ad on the back window or door magnet would be reasonable on a vehicle like yours.

Here, you can get a ticket for " Driving with an Obstructed View" if you put signs in or on vehicle windows. I would do something more discrete. The other thing I ran into is: I had small car sign, went on listing appt. , car was parked in driveway for 1-2 hours aprox 11 to 1pm. ( signed listing, was taking photos and measurments, etc), while inside, several neighbors had walked or driven by, noticed there was a realtor at their neighbors house. We weren't going to start listing for about a week because sellers were going out of town and weren't quite ready. Sellers called me that evening and asked if I had put listing in MLS, and I said no- you said you waned to wait until you got back. They had been getting call after call from neighbors and agents. Apparently, some of the nosy neighbors had called and said " Are you selling your house?" Followed by " If you ned an agent, my brother, sister, cousin, is an agent. And, "my sisters daughter just got her license....." Other neighbors had already called their agent relatives and friends and had told them that they saw a realtor at a house on their street, and I think they are going to sell. Those agents got address, looked up #, and started calling, as well as driving by. One agent actually drove over and knocked on their door using the line " I have a buyer that wants to live on this street, and was wondering if you were thinking about selling..." So If you do use a sign, you might want to use a removable magnetic sign. We actually moved the list date up to stop the calls.

I've never done it and probably will keep that way. Does anyone receive a call and closed an escrow from a car advertisement?

I had my company name on my last car. Went without it for a while and am going to go back to it. People could easily find me when I was meeting them at a location.

If advertising gets you business, then I'm all for it. There are plenty of businesses with advertising on their vehicles. It also lets neighbors on listings know that you have business there. I had the police stop me because I was taking photos of a subdivision. If I would have had something on my car that would have identified who I was, the neighborhood probably wouldn't have called the police. The police understood what I was doing there. I even gave him one of my cards. He just bought house a month before.

I have a Chevy HHR and I have a wrap. Wouldn't trade it for anything, except a new logo since we changed our name. We are going just the back panel this time.
