I think the jury is still out on this one Evelyn Johnston  from both a legal standpoint and a moral one.  Whereas a meth lab will have much more damaging contaminants to all who enter and a police file to go along with it a meth house, where it was smoked, does not have as much "illegal" evidence to show prosecutors. This associate is most likely working within the letters of the current law although walking a very thin line. Eventually it will be sorted out but it's nowhere near a resolution yet.

Morally, I couldn't include this stigmatized property in either my or any customer's portfolio without disclosure.

If the listing agent is not following the laws of your jurisdiction, I might tip off the buyers agent if it subsequently goes under contract.  And who knows, she may be disclosing it somehow other than on your MLS.  You might also consider calling her broker if disclosure is required.

I n our state you are required to disclose, but each state has its own rules.  I would speak to the Broker who has the house listed and tell him what you know.

I would certainly make any of my own clients who express interest in the home know what the situation is. I'd probably have my broker in charge deal with this.

Report it to the RE Commission.   A meth home in our area MUST be disclosed, and believe it should be in MLS too.

It is now knowledge to the agent, it must be disclosed, at least in Arizona.  If I was the listing agent, and the owner was telling me not to disclose, I think I would mutually cancel that listing

In our state psychological trauma in home is not a legal disclosure item, but might be a moral one for the listing or buyer agent. Don't know how meth smoking is classified and frankly not sure how that impacts the value of a home...

I would give a call and ask the agent why it is not being disclosed.  This will pose a huge problem because if you have another buyer this information needs to be released being a buyer agent.  Disclose, disclose.

If you have to disclose that information in your state, I would contact the Broker.  If you don't get a response, then I would contact your local Board.  If your state has a legal hotline, you could try them also.
