Annette Lawrence a well thought out and concise answer.  Thank you.  And yes my decision was made based on my results and area.  I was interested in knowing or getting a gleam of more than just my area.  Thank you again for the time in your answer.  Mark

Mark Don McInnes, Sandpoint you may be right - in fact, now is the time for TEXTing! (And people know 800# is a call capture!)

I cancelled mine so long ago it has to be more than 10 years. My company provides me this service for free and I use it, but I don't find it particularly effective. It's a listing sales tool and it doesn't cost me anything.

I only use toll free # on my sign riders. It has a 24 hour recorded message that takes the place of flier box.

Mark, you are actually the one who can answer this question.

Did anyone call your 800 #? No, that is why you are ending the service. should ask yourself, is anyone calling the telephone number on your yard sign? If the answer is still no, then your decision may be well founded.

In my area of FLORIDA, many folks are trolling the streets looking for For Sale signs who are from In,, Ohio, Pa, Iowa, NY, VA, KY, WV, MI, VT, MA, who have no plug in to the local market so they DO call those numbers.

However, as expert in marketing, we must be aware if we are guiding the consumer to take the action we want. If I provide an 800# AND a qr code AND a flier, AND a 'talking house," the consumer will have all the info they believe they need. The result is, because of MY action, I interfered with the consumer and prevented them from doing what I wanted and to be frank, what they wanted to do.

Now there are legions who will say some established practices are DOA, such as cold calling, door knocking, fliers, door hangers, open houses, direct mail, the list goes on and on (800#s), but this conclusion is false. They all still work, are very low cost, but must be adapted to the existing market place.

Conclusion: Using an 800# to provide home information to an audience swamped in information and mobility enabled would be an invalid application of that resource.

Most definately. I think local area codes are becoming a thing of he past, as are landlines.
