We have floor duty but call it something else -- "Opportunity Time."  I sign up for approx. 8-12 hours a month.  Call it being in the right place at the right time or just plain old luck but in 2014, it resulted in 2 listings and 5 sales.  I'm not going to complain about that!

We do have floor time and sign up for it monthly. When I first started in the business it really helped me get going! Now that I'm more seasoned, there are months that I opt out of it (it's a four hour commitment to be in the office in the morning or afternoon) but I still get good leads from it! I would prefer to have the calls forwarded to my cell as another member mentioned, but it allows for someone to be there for the walk-ins.

Our company does but I hear agents complain it is a waste of time as most calls go directly to the agents.

Our firm does have floor duty, though I don't personally do it.  I know that several people called/walked in to have their homes listed for rent, so it can be an opportunity.

Our office does, but we have a large office in the heart of a thriving office and it is worthwhile to do it, although I personally do not do it.

I can't remember that we've had it at least in the past 10-12 years. But then we don't really get walk-in traffic. If there's a call to the company, our office receptionist simply sends the call to the next person in line on her list of agents who are willing to field such calls and inquiries.

Keller market centers do not....If the only way an agent can get business is to reactive rather than proactive, they have a lot to learn.

No my present company does not have a floor duty, my previous company did, and even the office was in a great location and great name, we had rarely a walk in client or cold call to buy/sell.

No floor duty for us. I can't imagine there's much business that comes through floor duty anymore.

Our place does. Out of the 50 agents only about 20 do floor. We are located right as you enter town and while we may not get a lot we do need coverage. I always tell folks what a great time to work on your marketing!

Strictly on a voluntary basis.  We are a HUD broker so the agents who sit do get those leads plus any walk-ins or other calls during "their" time.  Personally, I haven't been doing it for many years.

I am on floor every other day as we only have 2 agents in my office, plus the Principal Broker. I am OK with it, though sometimes I feel chained to the desk when things are slow! AR comes in handy!

We do and you have the option of sitting for 2 hours at the office or you can sign up for it and be at home. If you do, the front desk will connect the caller to your cell phone. We have to sign up for it and I have not done it in many years.

Maybe I should try it again?

No. An employee answers the phone and connects the caller with the appropriate agent.

Since our office has a grand total of four agents and when one of us is in the office, we consider that floor duty!

We have it at my company but I haven't opted to do it in several years. When I think, I can do it, then something comes up and I am thankful that I don't have that obligation. I guess I will leave it as it is. I just wish any calls that came in on my listings came to me.

It seems about 50/50. In small markets it may be worthwhile. Midsize markets maybe not and larger markets the calls could be handled a different way. In my town we rarely have a walk-in and they calls mostly go directly to the agent.
