Thanks for your question, Ryan.

You currently have the ability to add a link to your ActiveRain blog on your Trulia profile. Here's how you do it:

  1. Go to: http://www.trulia.com/myprofile/about (you must be logged in)
  2. Scroll down to the "<<Your Name>> Online" section
  3. Click Edit
  4. Search for the ActiveRain Icon
  5. Add the link to your ActiveRain blog
  6. Click "Save"

Over the longer term, we will explore posting your ActiveRain content to your Trulia profile as a way of giving you more free exposure for the content you create on ActiveRain. Right now, we're investing in improving the ActiveRain community separately from Trulia Voices.

Your question brings up another really important point...should agents put all of their blogging eggs in one basket? Especially a basket controlled by an outside entity.

You all have wonderful thoughts and theories, Rainers!  Mum's the word until we anything concrete though. That isn't to say that there aren't talks of integrations - we will just have to wait and see though since the Zillow acquisition is going to play a big part in this as well.

Regardless of what happens, your own backyard blogging platforms, build a fire in those. So the rest matters little and you have control of your fresh local content from the end where it happens. Not ships west and buying back positioning or worse.

No. They will not.

The greater segmentation they can achieve the greater opportunity they can create to augment their revenue.

However, I do not rule out a future deployment of a Trulia blog modeled after Active Rain. In essence, any exposure to the consumer must be PAID for in advance.

One only needs to ponder the Zillow segmented revenue model to see the path ahead for Trulia.

I really think they will keep them separate, Trulia has a real bad problem with credibility with consumers due to the spam problem they have had the last couple of years. In addition they are not in the good graces of all the agents that gave their lives, time and blood to provide content to the site that were just stepped on as Trulia climbed up.

I'm waiting to see how Zillow presents in all of this. Obviously the Trulia AR piece has to be migrated & integrated THEN we'll see what Zillow does to integrate Trulia/AR with Zillow. We can only hope for the best.

I was told by a Trulia Customer Service Rep. that Trulia was going to be merging the blog.  When I asked more detailed questions and how this was going to take place, I was told I would be receiving an email in the next couple of weeks with further details.  Sounded like there were some kinks they still needed to work out.  One of the reasons for doing this was to cut down on spam.

Expectations are many, but at the end of the day, lack of control is where the problem is. Blog on my friends, but keep your content safe from the delete button of another corporation who does  not have your best interest at heart.

Tailored service for your real estate needs!

Matt Holder this post prompted me to visit my Trulia profile.  I hadn't noticed that my AR blog was not posted to my profile via the link/AR icon provided.  I had only added a link to my blog via the website links that Trulia links to your profile.

Why is there not an AR icon or anything that designates a link to a blog showing on my Trulia profile?  I understand that AR is focused on "improving AR separate from Trulia" but since you are now owned by Trulia, couldn't this be addressed?  I know that from where I sit it seems like an easy fix, and it may not be.  But I have a lot invested in my blog and I want to see it pay off.  A more visible link from Trulia to my AR platform would be helpful.

My Active Rain blog has always been linked to my Trulia profile, the ability to do that has been there for quite some time.

However, I would like to see IMPROVED visibility of the AR blogs, perhaps showcase the platform somehow so that the public becomes more aware of this rich resource of information.  In addition, since "buttons" are a popular device for attracting attention and therefore clicks, I would love to see some attention-grabbing icon on the profiles so that consumers know that YOU are a resource for the information they are seeking out.

I received an email from Trulia a week or two ago announcing the end of blogs.  I really don't like this change at all.  I feel that having a blog next to my profile on Trulia makes me more "credible" to those in that few minutes they may gloss over my profile.

I don't mind paying for an AR account at all.  However, the Trulia Pro account is looking less and less valuable.  My Trulia budget is not part of my 2015 plan as soon as my contract runs out.

I spoke to Trulia and I am still a bit confused as to how they are going to integrate Trulia and Active Rain.  The customer service representative couldn't answer all of my questions because all the is "new".  It will be very interesting to see what happens.
